Absolutely delicious! The wings were cooked perfectly and the flavours smoothly complement by the dipping sauce. My vegetarian mushroom pasta plate was hands down the best! It was light creamy and the flavours are endless. I went out of my comfort zone with this dish and I am glad. My son 5 y.o. ate the filet mignon, a little over cooked, but he didn't notice. The fusilli Mac was spot on. He ate his whole plate and said that was soooooo good! My husband had nothing but great things to say about his plate. The stake has a good crust at the bottom and was medium cooked just right. I couldn't tell you anything else. He was quiet ?. And nothing was left.. I have told my mother I would bring her to VAI's if she wanted great Italian. I would bring her from Texas to Illinois to eat here! I have not stop singing your praise. The first time we came here, we were absolutely thrilled with the food. So tonight we came for our anniversary and oh. my. gosh.....Okay let's talk about the number one reason you go to a restaurant: the food. I have never in my almost 29 years of life had such good cheese pizza. Do you know how much cheese pizza ive had? A LOT. The pizza was like... it was like eating pizza in 3D. It had so much depth of flavor that... I can't even explain. The cheese, the sauce, the dough... I'm still obsessing over it..My husband had a New York Strip steak which was cooked to medium rare perfection, and he cleaned his plate- but get this.... He liked my four cheese pizza better. And he doesn't. Like. Cheese. Pizza. WHAT IS IN THE PIZZA?!Our waitress, Leanne, was personable, extremely efficient, and genuinely kind! And at 8p.m on a Friday, the place was booked. But she kept up like crazy and.... did I mention she was the one that recommended the four cheese pizza?!Honestly, I was and am so euphoric tonight that I was trying to STOP smiling so much because I thought people were going to think I was insane. Like... I'm never eating cheese pizza anywhere else ever again.Side note: we never said it was our anniversary or anything- but it was as if we had- and the staff was going out of their way to make it special! Nope, they're just that awesome.Leanne also recommended the Tiramisu and the white wine cake. And they were both insanely good. I don't understand how everything here is so insanely delicious!So basically...I'm going into a food coma and I regret nothing.
It was definitely not a first choice!! my lasagna came out cold, they replaced it. the next one was hot but it was definitely over seasoned.. almost bitter and sour!! my cousin had a cheeseburger and he said his was very bland!! the only thing good was the onion.. so at a six plates of food two people didn't like it.. but their service was very nice!! They were very prompt and efficient. Our glasses stayed filled.. the adult beverages were awesome..
My date and I were actually going to go somewhere else and the wait was so long it was Saturday night. So we randomly came here and they seated us right away I even asked to sit outside and they did. The food was soo good my date loved his steak every bite was so mouthwatering he had to lean back to appreciate the fine meat. My pasta was also good! We had so much free bread we didn’t even finish our meal. So we took half to go. We definitely want to come back!
First time at Vai's for my birthday The small plates were great. A lot of vegetarian options. Nice atmosphere. Drinks were good. They have really good coupons and deals when you sign up for their email.
I’ve eaten at Vais a handful of times and every meal is extraordinary. These dishes are packed with delicious flavor and the pasta is exquisite. Me and my husband cannot get enough! We will absolutely be back again and again.
Food was delicious! service was exceptional & the atmosphere felt very comfortable! great place to go out for dinner with friends or celebrate a special occasion!
My wife and I had been wanting to try Vai's but had been reluctant to do much dining during the pandemic. I'm glad we tried it. We made reservations for 5:45 on a Friday. The place was packed when we arrived, but we were seated promptly at our reserved time. Vai's is visually attractive, dark but with attractive low-level lighting. We sat in one of the cozy booths. Our server was Luis who was professional and just friendly enough without being intrusive. After getting a glass of wine apiece we ordered our dinners. We each started with a small grilled Romaine salad. The dressing on the salads tasted freshly made...I don't know if it actually was freshly made, but it had an excellent flavor to it. My wife had one of the wood-fired pizzas. I ordered the special of Wagyu beef with shrimp. I know there are several variations of Wagyu beef but whatever this was it was exceptionally tender. We split a piece of flourless chocolate cake for dessert. It was all very good. Just a couple nits: -- the grilled Romaine salads could have used a bit more grilling. -- the restaurant is lively, bordering on noisy. We didn't hear any background music and thought that would be a nice touch. Overall, I would rate it very good. I expect we will return. The restaurant is expensive. We each had a small salad, two glasses of wine apiece, a shared dessert and a cup of decaf coffee apiece with dessert.... the total came to $176.00 including tax but not including tip. I am willing to pay the price for a fine meal. But now, with inflation, I think I need to reset my thinking on the costs of things. The best Italian food in town. We went there this Saturday, it was super crowded when we got there, and we already had movie tickets reserved.We waited and waited, and then had to give up as the restaurant was super busy, tables weren’t getting emptied. We turned the pager back, it was one of the owners, we didn’t know we were returning the pager back to. We told him everything.He got us a table immediately, took the food order from us, ensured the food was delivered on time, so we weren’t late to the movie. Super good customer care and food!A must go place for family dinners.
Phenomenal! Every item we ordered was superb! Service was top-shelf and is now my mew favorite spot.
