The place might have good food and probably very authentic Hyderabadi food, however it is not your typical Pakistani taste. Service was ok, not the best not the worst. We got halwa puri (4/10, not typical Punjabi taste), Goat haleem (6/10, tasted like hareesa not typical Karachi style haleem) and goal gappay/ pani puri (6/10, they had chana masala & not chana chat as filling for puri). Try Rehman sweets in Villa Park for authentic Pakistani/ Punjabi halwa puri.We tasted some snacks at Royal which were decent. Their chai was good (9/10). I might come again for chai and snacks but not for anything else.
A very genuine review based on real problems faced here:1. Very poor customer service and QUANTITY - The older legacy staff there is very rude giving out harsh philosophies of food. The new staff is untrained and chitty chatty among themselves messing up “to-go” delivery orders at the counter. The main OWNER doesn’t care, he is more busy on FACEBOOK all the time, promoting unrelated business posts, not paying attention to his business, it’s quality and customer service. At other restaurants the owners/investors spend time to improve their business everyday2. Catering - Do NOT cater food for parties from here, if you are thinking about their banquet hall. Talk to anyone who has hosted and catered food from here, they will tell you - You have to beg them for refills, they disappear on purpose to avoid you. Plus, very poor service after you pay the money. On refills they won’t give you the same quantity of meat in a biryani or a curry. Rather cater food from outside, to get a good feedback from your guests.3. QUALITY and PRICE - Do NOT order a dosa here. (Look at the images shared). Is this a dosa for their price? $9 for this quality? I’d rather go to Patel right next to it and buy frozen dosa box which only costs you $2.79, and it’s much tastier, authentic.Very stingy on quantity and quality of meat!Try mutton and chicken biryani at Ali Bhai’s “new” place - Kababish, Naperville. Just amazing!
It's a good place to have Irani tea and samosa or other snacks. But, I will not prefer to have lunch or dinner from this place. Couple of days back I had chicken biryani and dosa. Both were very disappointing especially the dosa. It was cold and burnt. Absolute mess. Sweets are definitely not good.Regarding the staffs' behavior, I would say it's good. Untill now, I didn't face any problem.
Recently got carry-out food from food court and it turned out to be pretty good. Halwa puri was delicious, we also got butter chicken... It was amazing. Chai was OK. Samosa was good too. Not much seating is available for dine in. And it's gets pretty crowded for weekend pickups.-------++--- extended feedbackI see a lot of unhappy folks in review related to service. I agree to them to certain extent. They don't offer the best service, staff arent trained for great experience and some menu items are available only for limited time. But I felt that restaurant never claimed to be best in class for service. It sounded more like a quick pickup spot for snack, lunch and dinner items. So if you like the taste, you can choose to ignore the other aspects.
Food was not good at all. Especially the biryani like it did not even tasted like biryani. Second, we decided to do dining and they just parcel our food. Moreover, they said just take the parcel.
One star is for Masala Chai otherwise remaining food is not really great, specially when you compare with options available in town. I would take that one star too for their rude behavior and no respect for customers. Atleast they should train better. I always prefer snacks from Patel brothers and chai from Honest after bad experiences here.
We took kadai paneer there. Paneer was of miniature size and chewy, so chewy that it will make you think if they have mixed plastic with paneer. Worst paneer ever tasted. My kid eats with paneer only but we repented taking paneer. Wish they don't serve waste in the name of food. Pls improve.
Long wait, not professional at all. Ordered 2 mutton dum biryanis - hardly any meat inside, just rice. Not at all worth $16.99 - first and last visit, will skip for sure.
This has to be one of the worst indian (if you can even call it that) meals I have ever had in my life, the restaurant has a super cheap vibe, utensils are plastic, plates and cups are foam and everything is self serve for that, the Chai which is highly rated was bland, nothing to rave over, also ordered two medium Chai and was served 2 small Chai. Went in a family of 4, and asked the counter for multiple items, everything was out of stock, settled on getting chat paadi and 4 masala dosa and they were even worse. The chat paadi was overly sweet, and the yogurt was disgusting, the filling was literally Chana masala that was super bland. The dosa wasn't terrible but the sambar was thicker than a milkshake, and the taste was unbearable. Ended up throwing away most of the food, suggestion for the restaurant would be if you aren't going to keep everything in stock and available consider removing items, you have 30+ items on the menu and 6 you can actually order after 3 pm, or consider a digital menu where you can show what's currently available.
Good place for Bangladeshi, Indian & Pakistani people. Food taste is good. Don't forget to drink milk tea when you go there.
