This used to be much better! I was there for lunch with a friend and we both ordered the same salad from their lunch menu. . . We got some wilted mixed greens instead with some soft mushy tomatoes. When we told the manager that was not what we ordered she simply said yes I agree and I’m not going to argue with you. We were not even arguing we were asking her if what we ordered was even on the menu and she said no. The salad tasted horribly and was gross. We refused to pay for that! We just left some tip money as it was not the server’s fault and left. Definitely not going back there again because the quality has gone to hell with that restaurant. It wasn’t even busy. Very disappointing experience!
Great food, Great service, Great everything ?
Awesome service and the food was delish ??
Im so sorry to be giving a one star to this **used to be* great restaurant. The staff is excellent but everything about the kitchen has changed. The shimp skewers are bland. The chicken is hard and dry, the sauces are soupy and tasteless, the presentation is atrocious, and everything shouts volumes of an "I no longer care what we used to be" attitude. NO chef that truly cares would allow this fare to leave their kitchen. If you don't know great food, or how this restaurant was, you'll disagree and applaud whatever it is you get. Very sad, won't return for a long, long time. Someone, anyone, please help them regain their happiness and fame.
I love the place. I have always got the best service at this place. But the last time i was there my food was inedible. It wasn't what i asked for and pasta was too eldante to the point of uncooked. When we sent it back, our dish was added some tomato sauce and brought right back and result was mushy veggies.Being vegetarian there are just 2-3 things that i can order and those things can't be made right it is disheartening.Their potatoes are fried with other animal products and that makes them " not vegetarian". We are recommended these kind of dishes which are fried in the same oil as animals!!!I have let them know about a few dozen times but it doesn't register to the staff.I would like to see a few good dishes added to their secret menu so i can keep taking my guests to this location. Why 5 star, i get good service at the restaurant and i can't ignore it due to food issues. Hope they will do something about it
Very bad customer experience! The food and drinks were okay but they really need to step up their game when it comes to taking care of their patrons. They don't make you feel welcome at all. We went there with my wife and our three kids and asked for being seated in an unoccupied area with less traffic. We were told in a pretty rude way that those tables had been reserved. Curiously, the all time we spent there, we saw no one being seated at those tables. Furthermore, when we left the place they didn't even say goodbye or thank us. This place is overrated!!!
The star of the show here is the location in downtown Naperville where patrons are seeking ambiance as a prerequisite to their dining experience. Food is average, but higher prices reflect that you’re also paying a premium for the aesthetic of the geography. Space is tight at best, but the advantage here is that you can audibly enjoy your neighboring table’s conversation if your dining party’s dialogue falls flat.Service is satisfactory unless they’ve overbooked in which case you’ll wait a bit longer for drinks and bread. For your money and more generous portions for your dining dollar, Rosebud (on Washington) and Vai’s (on Route 59) are better options.
Wonderful experience!! First time at this location. Jenna was our server and she was fabulous!! She went above & beyond to find a breaded pork tenderloin dish that I had at another location but was not on the menu at this location. Will be back for sure!!
Wow. I can’t believe this restaurant group also owns Fat Rosie’s, Vasili’s, and the newly opened Zade’s Lounge in Naperville. I can only hope this restaurant is their training ground for new staff or something because the quality of food here is so far from those other restaurants in the Group that it’s ruining my view of those other great restaurants. The food is horrible, really horrible. There is nothing authentic about it unless you count dumping canned tomato sauce on everything as “authentic”. They even dumped tomato sauce on mushroom ravioli - yes, mushroom ravioli with “light cream sauce” on their special “ravioli menu” came out covered in red tomato sauce. When it came out, I asked two times to double check - are you sure this is the mushroom ravioli?? But since the service is also understaffed and ridiculously slow, you don’t want to question it TOO much because the risk is having to go another hour waiting for food.Luckily our toddler isn’t picky at all about pasta so someone still ate it.Salmon was so dry it was about to turn into jerky.Partner’s pasta primavera made his stomach turn, and this guy is usually a garbage disposal whose stomach can tolerate almost anything.I did feel bad for our waiter, cuz while he wasn’t attentive at all, he was clearly overwhelmed with tables. The runners did a good job picking up the slack and if not for them I don’t think we would have gotten any food, ever. No idea why, during a tough economic time post-Covid, all the other area restaurants can maintain staff but not this restaurant? All I can think of is something is extra rotten about this restaurant despite being in the same group as so many good ones.
I am so glad that such an authentic italian restaurant is just blocks away from my house. The foods are superb!! The atmosphere this restaurant is so classic so that we can feel another level of comfort.
