I was so excited to try them out and I’m so disappointed. My first original call went to voicemail. I called again and a lady with an attitude answered the phone. I ignored it. I started to place my order and in the middle of ordering I was rudely interrupted and placed on hold and in the back ground in the I heard the lady swearing about me ordering. After that I had to hang up and not place an order. If you’re not going to give just basic customer service just close.
Great food comes in very generous portion, but I think the couple who runs this place needs some help. The wait time is just too much, even for orders placed over the phone. I sincerely hope their business would last because the food is the bomb.
I got the jerk chicken dinner and it was excellent. I wanted an additional side of 'fries with sauce', however it was substituted for the beans and rice, which I wanted as well. I should have been more clear when ordering I suppose. The food was fresh and very delicious. It is cooked to order, so keep that in mind, nobody is going to grill a 1/2 chicken immediately. I'd recommend getting an additional bbq sauce, mine didn't last! Next time I'm in town I will be back. Highly recommended
I did not vibe with this place. There's a lot of small reasons I could say but don't really matter. The main thing is the food wasn't great. Everything kinda tasted the same, kinda undefined, with some sauce, but like nothing had that rich flavorful impact. The ribs were about 85 percent fat chunks, and the collards had a distinctly unpleasant aftertaste of something i couldn't define. The jerk chicken was better, but still not great. Didnt pass rhe vibe check. Family was bummed and none of us finished our plates.
I called ahead and ordered two dinners, one white and one dark jerk chicken dinner. The food was ready when I arrived and I could feel the weight of the bag! The plate below was just 1/4 of what I had in my two containers. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious! It was also an excellent value. I will be back when I return to the Chicagoland area!
This was my first time here. I had the jerk chicken, the cabbage & cream soda, bomb. The fried catfish amazing but the grilled catfish was sooo good. I didn't care for the rice but he did gv me a side of cabbage because he didn't ask me what sides I wanted. 4½ stars
Order two oxtail dinner one extra cabbage and one with plantains. I spent over 50$ and this taste like beef stew there's no Oxytails like 4mine had lot of fat no meat. I'll pass
Kinda over priced, food is never hot even if you waited 15 for something that they said should’ve already been ready. Idk this place just isn’t it. I can’t believe I received Mac and cheese with a consistency of soup ?
Besides being a little slow, the food taste great!! I still didn't take away any stars because I don't mind waiting qhen the food always come back hot, and tasty. Small price to pat for deliciousness! Prices are reasonable and they've pretty much got the market cornered as the only jerk place, seemingly, in town! Customer Service is always nice and direct. Looking forward to going in to try the Jamaican patty soon!!!
I was a little leery about trying out this place at first from reading some of the reviews but I’m glad I came to check it out for myself. I had seen reviews saying the food was salty but it wasn’t.. it was SEASONED! I had the jerk chicken plate and the food was good! They give you a lot of food and I enjoyed everything on my plate. I even have enough for leftovers. Side note, this isn’t a place to go if you’re in a hurry. They take their time making the food, but it was worth the wait.
