Normally we come here for breakfast and always have a great experience. Great service. Great food. Today we decided to go there for dinner. The food was okay but the server was horrible. She came over and took our drink order and then we didn’t see her for 10+ minutes. She finally brought our drinks and took our food order. My boyfriend asked for a side salad and she completely forgot about it. And then half way through our meal he asked for a refill on his drink and that took another 10+ minutes. Overall, not a good experience this time around.
This food was so very good. The pot roast sandwich was amazing. All the drinks were good. The food did take awhile to come out but every where takes forever now a days. I’m glad we came here. It’s pretty pricey but we are in Naperville so not surprising.
We are not from the area and wanted to try something new while visiting. We ordered chicken fried steak and meatloaf. They came with mashed potatoes, cinnamon apples, and salad. These were all delicious. Reminded us of cracker barrel and the food was as good of not better.The service, though. Wow. There are actually what seems like enough servers for the place so I can't blame covid. Our server was SO slow and seemed to forget us often. In fact, it was quite clear we were done eating for at least 15 minutes before we were able to get boxes and order ice cream.Also, the bathroom was gross.
Went here for the first time and will be back sometime in the near future(live about 50 minutes away). Waited for a table initially but it was right around prime dinner time plus not all tables were being used due to either the whole covid thing or being short-staffed. Either way we didn't wait very long and they were friendly right off the bat. Menu had alot to choose from which included breakfast and dinner items. Prices were higher than I thought but after getting food and seeing the big portion and then how good it tasted I didn't mind whatsoever. Plus I know these days everything costs more for the restaurants anyway. We had a very nice waitress Linda who told us right away she was sorry if waited long and that they were short staffed. She did a great job and always checked on us when able to since she was busy. Great job Linda!! I cannot wait to go back here. Thank you for the great food and service.
The jambalaya was amazingly good. Lots of shrimp and tasty with a nice level of spicy flavor. As good as I have had in Louisiana! Way to go, Chef! I was not expecting that level of flavor!

They bloody mary's are so delicious The waffle and chicken is fantastic! The maple syrup is mouth watering. The service is on the dime. Friendly and fast.
I've been to other Colonial Cafes and have always had a good meal. Came here over the weekend and ordered nachos which was more like a taco salad, it was so weird. I have never in my life seen nachos like that. Server was really nice. Came back the next day because I remembered how good their breakfast is...the potatoes were burnt and so was our toast, she just brought out a new side of toast b/c the first was so badly burned, w/o us saying anything. The food at this specific Colonial was not good, servers are super nice though
Had a wonderful experience here at Colonial Café and it was unforgettable. This is one of the best breakfast and brunch spot here in this area. They have so huge variety of food to choose from. They have chicken, waffles, burgers, shakes, and other food that will surely satisfy all of your cravings. They offer so many breakfast foods that can fill you up. Food here is terrific. Lot of delicious options. Their place was very clean, neat, nice, and so bright. It is so cozy and pretty decent. Interior has a great atmosphere and the vibe hits different. Very enjoyable place. One of the most visited place here in this area of Naperville. Really nice diner. The staff here is so decent, professional, and friendly. Everyone here is very accommodating. All of them really knows how to be a reliable and helpful staff. Such a wonderful service. I will go back here again and again to continue trying and exploring all of their food on the menu. Soulful food. Nice Diner with great Food. Must try place. Chicken was very tender, good portion size. Yummy
