My honest review. I want Chicago Hot Beads to succeed. But unfortunately they are going in the opposite direction and we won't be coming back. When a restaurant offers a type of cuisine, in this case, Hakka/Indo Chinese, you assume they are half way decent at making it!? We spent over $100 ordering different items from their menu. Most were disappointing and not fresh. Definitely don't order the hakka noodles. They were made with spaghetti! And, were seasoned with so much black pepper. The price was high and service was 3 out of 5 at best. The food took so long to make and 2 items were wrong so we had to wait another 25 minutes for them to remake. We were the only ones there along with one other family of 3 who were dining in. How could it take so long? Also, there weren't any hot breads!? Just cakes. Hopefully, this restaurant turns itself around. Until then, there are so many other options in Naperville now.
Absolutely chaotic place and mediocre food. They are so busy taking orders that they forget to serve the ones who already ordered! The cook acts as if he is doing a favor and it's basically a Telugu restaurant masquerading as a bakery and chat center.
I could give 0 stars if it was possible.Horrible experience of food. I had ordered pav bhaji and samosa chat. It was the worst food I had as I got stomach pain after few bites.Pav tasted like a rubber and pav bhaji was not at all properly done. Too much salt. I loved Hot breads before but would never order or go there again. I ordered from door dash and requested refund from the owner and he lied saying I spoke to door dash for refund and later I found he never did it.. worst customer service.
I’m from Hyderabad and biryani in here almost reminds me of my city. One of the best biryani I have had in a very very long time. I was there at their closing time and the guy who’s the manager, I guess his name’s Kalyan or something made it a CAKEWALK for us. I mean one of the best puns to crack considering the name of their restaurant. Altogether BEST BIRYANI, BEST PLACE and even better staff. For sure going back again.
My kids have a great liking for hotbreads cakes since they were kids, if it is a cake it should be from hot breads and no other cake for their birthdays, over the past 15+ years I am seeing the transformation in their cakes which is not going in for good, their pastries are prefect but in cakes unless you cut the cake you don’t know there is no cake in it it is only the filling they are filling it up and decorating the cake. You guy have increased the cost but sure why your being so cheap with customers and trying to play with reputationPlease see the pic attached where the cake is been replaced by filling for comparison I am attaching the pic of pastry also
This place has really gone downhill. The chutneys are never consistent, a few have tasted beyond their life date (overly sour and bitter, or rancid from old coconut). Whatever they started using in their samosas is pretty gross, it should be a fresh potato and pea mixture with spices and it's more of a mush. They forget items often and we have to go back to get them, and the quality of food is now just subpar.
The recent good reviews didn’t justified with overall experience with food quality, service and specially prices we had recently. Food quality and taste was underpar which was not justifiable with the price they charging specially for veggie appetizers. The menu prices displayed currently and what they charging are 25-30% extra, just keep in mind. They did have small sign mentioning about the price adjustment but price change from $7.5 - $10.00 on many items is something to keep an eye on. Sorry but I would defintely avoid this restaurant in Aurora area next time.
This use to be our favorite place but it has gone downhill ever since1. The chole bhature was two days old2. The butter chicken was watery rather than the rich gravy3. the chicken was dry and rubberyOn top of it the prices we were charged were 25% then posted on menu. They had a notice saying they have increased prices but we thought menu reflected the price increase not the 25% increase we were slapped on.We had. a horrible experience and will never be back. Do not recommend its a waste of money
Good food, but underhanded charge on the receipt. They are charging 5% for Credit Card Charges. It is more than my DMV. DMV charges 3% and tells me about it. They are charging 5% on the total with taxes, that is just high-way robbery.
Food that we ordered was not worth it. Tandoori chicken was tasteless and no spice and chicken was not fresh.
