We really enjoyed our meal here. The egg rolls live up to the hype - crunchy but not dry, and the filling is generously balanced with meat and vegetables. I had the fish in ginger sauce, which was very good, and my 2 kids enjoyed the curry chicken and empress chicken respectively. And our server was fantastic - friendly and attentive. The owner stopped by and chatted a few times and was also very attentive and helpful, and she seemed like the kind of business owner who likes to get to know her customers.
The food recently was the worst I've ever had from this restaurant, which was take out. The Mong beef was chewy and the chicken lomein was tasteless. The egg rolls, chicken fried rice and egg rolls were average, but consistent with previous meals.
Best Chinese food around! Not to mention the staff is amazing! Doreen has a heart of gold! We moved from Vernon Hills to Volo and I still only order from Royal Cantonese! If you haven’t been here you are missing out!
Food is excellent, highly recommend the egg rolls. Portions are very generous. They will make your order any way you like it. John and Doreen are amazing Hosts. Dine in or carry out food is always perfect.

Worst food I’ve ever had. And overpriced!Everything was over cooked. The egg rolls were burnt. Fried rice smelled wrong.I would not recommend this restaurant.
