I've been to Marui's about a half dozen times in the last 5 years, and have seen them expand to the neighboring storefront (usually a good sign).Along with that growth, prices have also grown (they're no longer that inexpensive, divey-joint, that they used to be).The food is still good - nothing overly special, but good.Portions are decent - again, not huge, but decent. These have shrunk over the years (used to be that most entrees included hash browns - some still do, but not as many as previous)Service is good with meals served FAST. Nick-picky, but servers don't seem to be team oriented - another waitress passed our table several times to refill coffee at her tables, but ignored our table.Décor is still divey - clean, well-kept, but just your basics.Unfortunately, the prices have gone upscale, but portions, presentation, and ambiance haven't.Yes, I know pandemic-related supply chain issues, but I'm using other nearby establishments for comparison - I can think of a couple other places within a 10 minute drive, where you can get a better meal, in better surroundings, for the same (or less) money.
Excellent service and friendly staff. I tried the Mexican Omelet and it was delicious. I will come back for sure. The restaurant is not fancy but it has a great environment
The hummus and fresh baked bread was a great start to a delicious dinner. Even the beverages were homemade with fresh fruits and whole leaf teas. I will definitely be back.
I had a great breakfast in here. It was my first time I just said to myself that I should give this a try and I did and I love the whole experience from the service to the food and I will definitely be back some other time. This place is a nice spot for breakfast and brunch. It is not big and not small either and has a perfect space with many tables and seats inside. I was alone when I went here the place is kind of busy there is a lot of customers inside but I was able to find a seat quickly. The staff is also nice and friendly. Their menu has a lot of options and the prices are cheap literally cheap. I ordered eggs, hash browns and bacon and a cup of coffee. Service is fast too and the food is served hot and freshly cooked with generous portion which is surprisingly and opposite to its price but really wonderful. Everything is well-cooked and well-seasoned. The food has nothing special to it just basically the usual breakfast that I would have a t home but it was delicious. This is a really nice and convenient place for breakfast and brunch. Must visit!
Food was great, every staff member was attentive and kind.
Great family restaurant. I'm not much one for breakfast places unless it's this one. I try to visit wherever I'm in town.
Recently moved to the area and we have been to Mauri’s a couple times now. Excellent food, good portions, great variety, very fair prices and the staff are attentive and kind. They also have senior specials which is nice to see! This restaurant is worth a visit!
Maurie's is a weekly spot for me. It serves excellent food with a friendly staff. They have a seniors menu which reduces portion size and price. It is a Mundelein favorite!
A cozy little family diner in the heart of Mundelein. Quick and friendly service with fantastic food! Definitely recommend the biscuits and gravy
Tasty food, I love love the breakfast deep fried hash browns...must try. They have decent vegetarian options. Very good food. Pretty busy but not to bad. Very nice wait staff.
