I ate here one time about 4 years ago. The cashier was an older male (boomer) and the rest of the employees were teenagers. The cashier had a very stern look on face. I got the feeling he doesn’t like younger people. I ordered a chicken sandwich and the sandwich was like 95% bread with a sliver of chicken. All it took for me was one bad experience, never again.
Place was fantastic! Super Friendly staff, nice little seating area outside. The veggie burger let me just tell you was unreal ? same with the jalapeño poppers! Fries were great too! I really recommend stopping by here if you’re in the area!
Huge portions. The Italian beef was overloaded and delicious. Onion rings fantastic. Charred dog outstanding
Classic Chicago hot dog stand. Service was good and so was the food. I had the Maxwell style Polish sausage. Tons of grilled onions it. Unfortunately I smelled like onions for a day. Not the best around but I would definitely eat there again.
Food was great! Gyro was huge, and filling. Ordered chili cheese fries, received cheese fries, guess I should’ve looked in the bag before walking away.
Always a lively place; customers getting their favorites or browsing the menu on the wall looking for something different this time. The Gyros are fantastic! Big! I love their Onion Rings. The owner donates a lot to community groups too!
Barqs red creme soda seems like it's worth it alone, but the food is good. Quick service and clean dining area.
Meat in the sandwiches were dry. I did like the fries. Picked up dinner after 7pm. Cashier had an attitude. Not enjoyable to encounter after a long day. I dont think I'll be back.
I recommend going for lunch. Dinner always comes with a side of attitude. Kind of ruins the experience. Good beefs, hot peppers are on the mild side.
Definitely one of the best hot dog stands in the area. Excellent Chicago dogs made to the exact Vienna Beef specs. Most poppy seeds I have ever seen on a bun. Great shoestring fries - unless you are absolutely ravenously hungry, it's not necessary to upgrade to a large. Very good fried zucchini sticks. Self serve soda refills. Clean restaurant, helpful staff. Will be back for sure!
