This is a solid choice for a Chinese Buffet. They offer a stir-fry station and the sushi is actually pretty good.Try to go when they are busy so the food turns over faster and stays fresher. The value, quality, and flavor all add up to a good night out with the family. My teenagers love it.
Just brought a plate to go. Upon eating the chicken and mushrooms, something stuck me in the mouth like a needle. I spit it out and it was a sharp tiny bone. I called to tell them What happen. They offered to take it back and I can get something else, but they still have the chicken and mushroom out.
Never in my life has anyone in a restaurant told me I had leave a tip when I paid when I already had left a 10 dollers tip on the table so I gave 5 dollers tip on the receipt and took my 10 back thirsty
A shell of its former self, too overpriced for seemingly reheated food from probably yesterday. This has been my experience 80% of the time, the last 4-5 years it has gotten much worse. Most of the food was super greasy and dry.
Terrible, rude service. Food was not fresh, Ice tea tasted like it was days old. Over priced for the quality you get.
Empire restaurant is in a great location around Mundelein and Rand Road. The buffet is large, fresh and clean. The variety and authenticity are above average for a buffet. The big difference is the EMPIRE KNOWS HOW TO COOK CHINESE!!! There are watery gravies or mild tasteless versions of what is a mixture of Cantonese, Szechuan and Mandarin cuisine all done well. Numerous pork and seafood dishes, one of the best General Tzo's chicken with plenty of spicy orange peel sauce, chewy noodles, huge calamari, plenty of tasty ways to eat healthy with garlic sauce fresh crisp stirfried vegetables. Everything is top notch for a meager and fair price. The dessert bar is above average. One tiny nick, at the self serve ice cream bar, the water faucet that the metal scoop is stored should run constantly. Bring the family you won't find more or better at near the price. Imagine a real Chinese master chef inviting you to eat anything from his menu ALL YOU CAN EAT!!!
This place doesn't have good food or variety even at 5:00pm. The food was cold and bland. Also they just stood there waiting for us to tip. Like it wasn't good and still want a tip.
The food was cold and been sitting there for a while and the server didn’t even give us a refill on our drink and laughed at my dollar tip what do you expect for bad service she still had the nerve to ask for a tip I’ve never been ti a restaurant where they ask for a tip
My family is the regular of this resturant. In addition to the buffet, we order carry out at least once a week. The restaurant uses fresh and high quality material (I.e. large size shrimps, tender beef….). The flavor is the best among the north shore Chinese Restaurants. Our favor dishes are spicy fish pot and beef stew pot (not on menu, but can order anytime). Salt and pepper scrimp, crispy chicken, deep fry stuffed Mexican green pepper, various egg rolls. Their hot and sour soup is also THE best among north shore Chinese Resturants.
Great selection food was tasty and fresh and the sushi was good must other buffets sushi is not good and cray fish so so this buffet everything was good
