Food was delicious, service was friendly, even though we came in 45 mins to close. Teriyaki beef dinner only said it came with rice and miso soup, but there was a surprise of seaweed salad, potato salad, and a vinegary cabbage salad that were a very nice surprise. Homemade teriyaki sauce was very tasty and the steak was done perfectly.Absolutely coming back and bringing friends.
The food here is AWESOME! Out of this world ramen. I love the takoyaki and the saikoro steak. I haven't tried much of the sushi but I had the dragon roll last time I was there and it was excellent. At some tables you can sit on the floor, which makes for a unique dining experience. The service is always on point. They have a decent variety of sake, beer, and whiskey available. The Japanese beer they offer has always been really tasty. I'm really looking forward to the next time I dine here. It has been a consistently phenomenal experience.
Good food but don’t trust the menu pictures or online…Price online are not what is applied so be ready to be surprised when you come to pickup your food.
This has been my go to place whenever I want Sukiyaki. Sukiyaki is only offered for dinner. It’s simplified version but can’t complain for the price tag.Nigiris are good as expected.Appetizers are pretty good.Beer is pricier than nearby Japanese restaurants.
Had shisamo, nato which are great appetizers, fresh and delicious. The shishamo seemed almost half of it was all eggs. The nato has the nicest nutty aroma. For my majn meal I had the Sashimi Special which had chuto, otoro, salmon, 6 small ami ebi, whelp, tai and hamachi. All are excellent and scrumptious! Otoro melts in your mouth! Wished they fried the shrimp heads and served them to me. Rice did not come as complimentary with the Sashimi Special, I believe it should. But I’m happy to have those selections during this pandemic era. And as can be expected in a time like this, the service is mediocre but the eats are top drawer.
This place is great! Saw it a few years ago on PBS’s Check, Please! show and the hype is real. We now go at least once a week for lunch. My favorite is the miso ramen soup with shumai. Staff is great, food is fire, and prices are excellent. Highly recommend
Outstanding experience. House sake is the best I've tasted. Good Japanese beer selection. Delicious food. We've had a variety of appetizers; sushi; ramen and dessert. Everything was great. Service is also fantastic. Will be back
I love this place , a friend showed me once so now I keep going there . The best sushi you can find in Chicago . Trust me I love sushi so I eat sushi almost everyday, but this place have the best sushi . I will recommend the shrimp roll and the rainbow roll . Try their house salad as well . The food is amazing and the people there as well . Everybody is so nice .all my friends like it as well. Love love this place .
Rigid Japanese food place. It's at least same or better in some perspective even comparing with actual ones in Japan. Food level, staffs, interior, all pretty great considering the price. Feels like I am in Japan.. (You can see many Japanese guests too, which means they may feel home here.) One of my favorite restaurants. Recommend!
Excellent service with delicious food. I recommend the Tako yaki (creamy octopus balls in the appetizers). I also loved my dessert, the Taiyaki with vanilla ice cream. The fish pastry filled with a bean paste was served warm with the cold vanilla ice cream to mix with. I am definitely going back again.
