Really sad because the food was good but customer service has been consistently been awful. Waitresses rolling their eyes and with an attitude when we politely ask to be seated somewhere where we have more room for 4 people plus a highchair. It was not busy today and we were disappointed that we were again treated badly by the young waitress.Customer service is important in restaurant business and should be greeted well instead of judged silently as you walk in waiting for any waitress to grab menus and start walking without acknowledging your presence and somehow expecting you to follow.
Food is fantastic! Amazing presentation. Great value for the money.
Good food, terrible service. Rude waitress. Every other waitress checked their tables while ours waited until we wanted our bill. All stood behind the counter in a circle on their phones and talking. I feel bad for writing this because I’m in the service industry. But we waited about 30 minutes to get our second round of drinks when they weren’t even busy. Not to mention, the dirty looks we were randomly getting. What was even more embarrassing is that another customer pointed it out to us before we even noticed.
The tempature in the place was cozy, food was delicious and wonderful music playing, server was friendly also
We’ve stopped by for brunch on multiple occasions and have been thrilled with the food and service each time. Pancakes are great, omelets are tasty, and their Benedict’s are done right.We always feel like we’re treated as family when we are dining at Meli’s and we’ve never had to wait to be seated or get our food. Can’t go wrong with Meli’s!
I don't go out for breakfast often and am very particular when I do. But I can honestly say Meli's is amazing! So satisfied. Great food in a very nice location. I had a skillet and my wife had the omelette. Both were delicious. I sampled the carnitas skillet and will be back to get that soon! ??
I tried the Athenian skillet and a bite of the carnitas skillet, and they were both perfect! I’m a big fan of the gyros skillet at QC Coffee and Pancake House in Rock Island and I honestly liked this one better— that’s saying something cause they’re both outrageously good. Pancakes were just right, fluffy and sweet with a light dusting of powdered sugar. Compliments to the chef and my server as well, she was wonderful. I’ll be back, Meli’s!!
So, so very delicious! I would definitely suggest stopping any and every time when in the area.
My wife and I tried Meli's today, we were very pleased with the prices, and the breakfast meal we had was great! The service was excellent, and very friendly staff! We will definitely be back!! Great local restaurant.
Given that I've eater here before and gotten good food fixed right for the price, this last time was extremely disappointing. On ordering the server did not write down the order correctly. She wrote Med Red for Medium Rare and when the second steak was ordered Rare, she wrote down Well (HUGE difference). The cook fixed the Med Rare steak as Med Well and then when I sent it back to be done over, it came back again as Med Well. This was an 11 oz NY Strip. So, this indicated that the cook had no clue on preparing steak. This is the Midwest, and it is very important that steaks and meats be prepared properly. The pancakes, biscuits and gravy were fine. The eggs and hash browns were fine. The service not so good either. I think they may have been understaffed.Final analysis, as I told the waitress as checking out (49.00$ meal) that I arrived with great hope and expectations because of my past visit, this time I left extremely disappointed and frustrated. I probably will not be returning any time soon.
