Super friendly waitress, atmosphere is great,. salads were awesome, drinks were great. Bone-in Ribeye was overcooked (ordered medium and came medium-well inside and well outside), should have ordered medium-rare. Steak had a strong char flavor that over-powered the meat flavor, which isn't my preference. I expect restaurant steaks to fall short of my own, even at this price, so my expectations are realistic. Good news is the cut of beef was really good and it saved the steak and kept it from being chewy. Still very tender and I ate the whole thing. Crab-stuffed shrimp was also slightly overcooked, but very tasty. Everything else was great.
Our celebratory dinner at Johnny's was fantastic in every way. Quick service even outside of traditional dinner hours, simple to make a reservation, great food and drink selection. Everyone in my party's dinners and salads were delicious and we even received a complementary dessert for our special occasion. Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food. Highly recommend for your next fancy outing!
My family dined here last night after a memorial for a beloved family member. The original reservation was for 20 people, but as more and more people showed up, the staff quickly realized we needed more seating. They were extremely accommodating considering our large party and made sure we were all seated near each other. As our food started to come out from the kitchen, my uncle, the rudest restaurant patron on planet earth, started to heckle the server saying the service was slow. After he got his steak, he complained about it not being cooked right. The server took it back to have a new one prepared and a manager came to speak to him. He continued on an inappropriate rampage about how to properly cook a steak and that he should be treated like an owner of the restaurant. He wasn’t interested in letting the staff make things right, he just wanted to hear the sound of his own voice, evidenced by the fact he didn’t want them to remove the steak from his bill. The staff continued to bend over backwards to make an impossible man happy and the level of professionalism they showed was truly remarkable. My uncle is an embarrassment to the family (so much so that his own grown adult kids didn’t want to sit near him) and I wish I could give this establishment 5 stars over and over for the way they handled the situation.P.s. He brought a fanny pack full of sliced white bread to accompany his meal. What a loser.
Pretty good variety on the menu. Food was good, nothing unique or special about flavor or quality. The bread was excellent. The crème brûlée was very good. Coffee is not bad. A little over priced for what you get. Friendly server.- Food 3 stars- dessert 4 stars- overpriced steaks3.5 ⭐️ total
Excellent food. Even the ceasar salad was fantastic. Service was even better than the food. Our server Javier was very attentive and polite, without being “in your face”. Great experience.
Sadly, Johnnys has had its day in the sun. We used to love coming here for holidays and occasions with friends, but something has happened both in the front and the back of the house. The servers are not attentive and in some cases are short with and rude to the customers. There are very few of the veteran staff remaining. The food coming out of the kitchen is mediocre at best. I had veal parmesan which was basically tasteless, and the pasta was cold. My friend's steak was overcooked. We ate what was put in front of us so as to not cause any more trouble than we had already experienced. When our server finally cleared, she asked if everything was ok, and we said no. A server we knew said how about another drink. We said OK but they turned up on the bill which we thought were to have been comps for a lousy meal. Somebody said the longtime manager doesn't care anymore. Well, someone needs to or the business will fail. High prices demand high quality, but quality has disappeared here.
We didn't have a reservation, so we sat and ate at the bar. The atmosphere, food, and service was all outstanding and we had a great time talking with other customers and the bartenders! We'll be going again.
Definitely not the Johnny's it used to be. Had subpar service, mediocre food and it was pretty was definitely pretty dusty in there. Could use a good cleaning!
We had a 7pm reservation and they were able to sit us early to enjoy a drink before ordering. After ordering, a table next to us ordered appetizers and another table was seated. Both tables received their entrees before we had our dinners. The waitress did come out to apologize for how long it was taking several times. We had agreed that at 8pm, we were done. We told the waitress, we just wanted our bill. She brought us the bill then she ran out some food and wanted to know if we wanted to take it. We declined and paid our bill. As this was my Birthday dinner in the Quad Cities it was very disappointing. We will not be back and we have family in the area.
My husband and I both ordered steaks medium. Both were raw. We returned them and they were perfect. Our waitress clearly wanted us in and out. When we ordered our.drinks she bugged us for appetizer and dinner orders. We told her multiple times we were not in any hurry. Then when we did order dinner, she berated us and said now we would need to wait a long time for our dinner. This didn't bother us at all, but she was quite snotty aboit it. Overall, the ambiance is exactly what we wanted and it over-delivered. The food was good and we will return.
