Hadn't been to Bierstube in many years and probably won't be going back. The place had an unpleasant smell, the waitress was very uninformed but in her defense, also fairly new. Took 10 min just to get a draft beer and it was barely cold. Ordered wings w blue cheese dressing and was told later, out of blue cheese and none could be made because also out of milk!!! This was Saturday noon time!Wish we'd gone elsewhere.
Went there with a friend. We both had menus. Looked over some of the selections, my friend pretty much knew what he wanted. The lady turned around and entered his order on the computer system . Then walked away, tending to other people. Never once came back to us until his appetizer came 25 plus minutes later. Then actually asked me if I wanted to order something. Like really?? Also the menus were left in front of us the whole time. I was ready to order when my friend ordered. Lousy service today and I didnt get to order a drink either besides water
This is a pretty neat place. Unfortunately the weather was bad so we couldn't be outside. But we sat inside and had a great meal. Unfortunately they were very under staffed, and the poor older gal working was stuck bartending and waiting all the tables. She was running her rear off, but couldn't keep up. Not her fault, so I'm not letting that affect my overall rating. The place is a bit dated feeling, and it feels a little underkept. But it also gave it a more personal feeling to me, so I didn't mind. Their beer selection was great, lots of authentic german breweries both on tap and in bottles. We had several beers, all excellent. Chatted with a couple local guys who frequented germany and had a lot of neat stories to tell about germany. Our food was amazing! I don't remember the name of what I had, but it was fantastic! And the potato pancakes are nothing short of amazing! Crispy with awesome flavor! I could have made a meal of them by themselves. My co-worker's meal was awesome too he said. Definitely very glad we stopped in here. If we're back in town again, this will be on our list to stop at again for sure!
Bartender told me to sit anywhere. I sat at a booth in the dining room. Fifteen minutes later I still hadn’t seen a waitress. I left.
Stopped here for dinner while staying in downtown Moline and enjoyed the German food. I really like red cabbage and hot German potato salad is also very good. The red cabbage was delicious - you definitely want to order it.I ordered the Leberkäse Dinner (see picture) lightly beer battered per the waitress' suggestion. It was good and I would recommend it.Food: 4Atmosphere: 4Value: 4Service: 3If you found this review helpful, please click to show your support. ???
Top notch food!! We had the cheddarwurst/bratwurst platter with kraut, red cabbage and german potato salad. And the pork schnitzel/breaded tenderloin and fries. Great atmosphere.
I've been here before. they have great food. i had the Huhner with potato salad and a Franziekaner hefe. delicious!
I’ll be craving these Reuben egg rolls until I make my return. Soooo good!
DO NOT EAT THERE!!!! 5 OF US, GOT FOOD POISONING ON 12/28/21 and Owner will NOT give us a REFUND! TRUST ME!!! Ransid Cooking oil!We have been throwing up and diarrhea! We should have known...No one else was in the restaurant!
Horrible food!! Made everyone in our group sick with food poisoning!! Ordered Potato pancakes that were deep fried and burnt on the outside and raw on the inside!! Reuben Rolls were the same and had a funny burnt fry oil taste to them!! The Reuben sandwich made me sick and sat in my stomach like a brick. That night and I threw up 4 times until all the meat and sauerkraut was out of me!! Even the big pretzel was slightly burnt with odd looking and tasting cheese?? I’m give it one star because I can’t give it a minus number of stars!! My friend called to complain and go no where with the owner!!
