Pork was the best meat choice out of pork, steak and ground beef. We tried the tacos and a burrito.
We had great expectations for this place after reading several reviews. We only encountered one individual running the place. Having never visited before, I had some basic questions to which the employee responded with "What?" or "Huh?" repeatedly. I gave up asking and quickly placed an order. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands only to find that there was no soap in the dispenser. The tables all had plenty of hand sanitizer though. I only ate half of my burrito. It was very salty, and otherwise bland. They do not serve jalapeños or zanahorias like many burrito/taco joints do. We won´t be back.
Food was pretty good. Wasn't the best I've ever had but definitely had no complaints. When I'm in the area I will be back when I'm feeling good Mexican food.
I placed an order over the phone and the guy taking my order was so rude.The food wasn’t to bad.The steak was undercooked and the guacamole had to much lime and the salsa was very salty.Won’t order here again because why would I pay for bad service when there are so many other good places to eat at.

The food here is very good and we have had good service up until this evening. The hours listed In front of the restaurant and online state that they are open until 9 PM. We tried to phone in take out order at 8:30 PM and no one would answer the phone. When we arrived at 8:40 PM we were informed that they were no longer taking orders and the restaurant was closed. Don't lead people on and state that you are open until 9 PM if you're just going to close when you feel like it. Going to be very difficult for us to ever come back
Here at 8:40 pm and can't be served once again. 2nd time now they have shut their open light off the second they see me pull in 20 minutes before closing. Worked 18 hours today and would have liked some dinner and decent customer service. Guess it is too much to ask for from this place. I don't know why they make their closing time 9pm when it should say "we close up the second you pull up so we don't have to serve you". Just do yourself a favor and go to tacos El Norte if you want some good customer service.
Best authentic tacos in McHenry! Not only that, but they stack meat/protein in there, not mostly fillings.Only thing is, their hours are incorrect. Check it out first.

Amazing tacos. Just moved to IL and was looking for a decent authentic taco place. This place more than filled my expectations. Amazing food, prepared fast. Went there last night (Thursday). The hours read open until 10pm, they were closed shortly after 9. No point in having scheduled open hours if you don't follow them. My wife and I gave our business to Patroons. At least they follow their own/close schedule.
