Great food.Large portions .Fresh....Had party of 8..All very satisfied. Will definitely be going back!Loved the desserts..
We went to Cucina Rosa for the first time. I wish I would have tried it a long time ago. The food was delicious! Reminded me of a Italian restaurant I worked at years ago. I have been looking for a place that had the same food I was used to and could not find one. No other restaurant has come close. This is a winner! We will be back again very soon. Great atmosphere and affordable too.
First of all, love the main course. The chicken parm is great. Big portion of chicken, plenty of pasta. The gravy is perfect, not too salty. The cheese stuffed ravioli is very good as well. Portion size was plentiful. Only real complaint I would have would be the tiramisu. Honestly the worst I’ve ever had. Stop using cream cheese for the cream, it’s not a birthday cake. Use marscapone, like it’s supposed to be. Also, There was not even a trace of espresso (which is a main flavor ingredient in the dish) or anything, in what I had received. Very dry. Main course 10/10. Desert 0/10.
The food is awesome. Huge portions, leftovers! Good staff, fast. My fav is their lasagna. My husband loves the ravioli.
Amazing people, Delicious food, Fabulous drinks and for dessert I recommend the Cannoli Round Trip!! One of McHenry’s gems!! Love this place!!
I was so very surprised to find an Italian restaurant to be this good in this area! Being Italian myself it's rare for me to really enjoy eating at Italian restaurants because of growing up eating authentic Italian family recipes. Most places are okay at best but Cucina Rosa is so very good in everything they do. From the moment we walked in and could see the chef working in the kitchen preparing dishes for the guest with an aroma that was inviting. We were immediately greated and felt more like we were in a friend's home. After we were seated we ordered muscles, shrimp and bruschetta. All prepared to perfection! We then ordered manicotti stuffed with ricotta and spinach, lobster ravioli and chicken parmesan. So delicious and the presentation of each dish was top notch! The sauces were so smooth and bursting with flavor, the texture of the pasta was perfect. The chicken parmesan is huge! If you have a large appetite it will fill you otherwise you'll be bringing some home for a second meal! The service was professional, friendly and courteous. Anything we asked for was taken care of. They have a bar for cocktails and other beverages. They create the cocktails with care as they don't just throw them together in a glass but carefully blend them together and again with a perfect presentation. Lastly, desert. Cream brulee that truly was the very best I have ever had anywhere. I've been to Rome, Florence, Venice, cruised on several ships with international chefs and been to several countries. The cream brulee at Cucina Rosa is the best I have ever had! This restaurant is as good as any of the best restaurants I've visited in Italy. I would rate Cucina Rosa 10 stars if it were possible because of the superb food with excellent presentations, the friendly and courteous staff that made us feel right at home, the chef and the wonderful family recipes used for the dishes, and the atmosphere. It's a winning combination in a convenient location. Needless to say we will return to try other dishes and it will be cream brulee again for this returning guest!
This has become our new favorite Italian restaurant. It says right on the menu; the owner enjoyed watching his mother cook meals growing up and named his restaurant in honor of her. It definitely shows. Everything tastes homemade, like it came out of your Italian mother's or grandmother's kitchen. The portions are just what you'd expect-HUGE. The bruschetta is epicly delicious. Make sure you ask for it with mozzarella! Lobster ravioli is my personal favorite, and my wife loves the stuffed shells al forno. We really have never had anything bad before. If you're in the area, or even from afar, this is a MUST try!
We have always had superior customer service and the food is wonderful.
We went here because we want to find an Italian restaurant that would be as good as Carrabbas. We recently moved and we are too far from Carrabbas now. I saw a lot of good reviews of this place so we gave it a try. I was excited because they have mussels in white wine like Carrabas. But I didn’t like the mussels. Too salty and nothing special. Honestly, from all these photos that I uploaded the only thing that I would say that we like was the fettuccine alfredo. We regret ordering the baked clam the most. Just lots of breading and you couldn’t even taste any clam. We were actually laughing because we really couldn’t find the clams. Lol.Fried calamari is nothing compared to Carrabbas. Oh god the soup was really weird, we ordered two diff soups, it looks the same and they both have pasta just diff taste. Can’t really explain. Salad also wasn’t good. We took the left overs home but ended up in trash. We will not come back.
4 of us each had a different dish and all of us were totally pleased with our selections! Appetizers were just as excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!
