I love your food but man you all must hate to go orders because I've had a horrible experience every single time I have placed one.
Friday evening, the special was Cod fish with two sides. It took an extremely long time to get the food for it being a special. The Cod was fried to a crisp. And I do mean a crisp! The two sides I ordered were fries and slaw. I got the fish and fries but was told they were making the slaw.Very poor experience. The worst I have ever had at a Cracker Barrel restaurant!I should have ordered breakfast!!!
after one full year of trying different cracker Barrel restaurants in several states , with horrible results, we thought we would try Illinois. Wrong! Same results , different state. Cracker barrel has just been going downhill in a steady roll! I tried the hamburger steak, thinking it is pretty hard to mess that up! I also ordered mashed potatoes with gravy and string beans and biscuits. My husband ordered fried catfish, coleslaw and pinto beans with corn muffins. easy , right? most of that food is premade. Well. once again we were wrong. We waited too long to get a waitress ( and it was not even busy). Then we waited another twenty minutes to get a waitress to take our order. Then we waited a half hour to get bad food! It was not just bad food, it was horrible food. I got a burnt hamburger patty and cold mashed potatoes with cold jellied gravy on top. But.. My biscuits were edible, just cold as were my string beans. My husband got greasy cat fish , no pinto beans , cold slaw and some kind of mis shaped muffin thingies. we ate what we could and went to the cashier to pay . ( yes we actually got a bill for bad food) We complained to the cashier and she said said: I am sorry that will be thirty two fifty six. we paid the bill and tipped the very dumb waitress only because we felt sorry for her that she could not get a better job. Then we left . That was it! Never again will we eat at a cracker barrel! Please save yourself, as I am sure someone will get food poisening eventually.
I've been here before and could take it or leave it but the other night I was thrilled with my dinner. The roast beef cooked for 14 hours was fork tender. I wish they had a choice to upgrade for a couple dollars and get even more beef it was that good. The green beans I chose as one side were perfectly seasoned. The mac/cheese was my 2nd side and it was really good, nice consistency instead of stuck together. I'd definitely go back. The store has beautiful cards and unique gifts. I can spend a lit of time walking around the store.
Typical Cracker Barrell floor plan. The bathrooms definitely needed work/cleaning. Food was average. My chicken pot pie did not taste the way I remembered and not in a good way.
We were seated at a table……waiting and waiting for someone to take our order. Numerous customers were seated, and waited on after us. We left. Just because you seat people near the back of the restaurant, you can’t forget them. We will rethink Cracker Barrel for another time.
Service was wonderful. The food was tasty! I don't care for chicken breast but that was the 1st piece I ate, and boy was it juicy! We both enjoyed our meals and sweet tea. Very affordable! Great place to stop and eat when traveling!
Servers were nice and professional. Kitchen took WAY to long. People were seated after me, were served, ate, paid for meal and left before my plate came out. Manager did rectify without me asking. So kudos to manager and servers.
The food was great and the staff was very friendly. It just took so long for for us to eat. I mean it took extra long to get out drinks, it took extra long to get our order taken, it took extra long to get our food. Only one of those no big deal but when all of it happened. It makes you realize it took an hour and fifteen minutes to eat.
I always love them until today. We wait for 1 hour for our food and every table around us already had their food even they come in after us long time. Our waitress disappeared after 1st pour of coffee and come back like 25 minutes later for another pour. I don't ever wanna give any bad review and i understand for their busy. However we want to talk to manager but she was too busy to talk to us. I know they won't loss much money through our oder however they might lost all customers later if their service keep being this way.
