Been a few years since I last went, and I regret going back. Should have known when the standard chips and salsa was disappointing. The consistency was more like a thick sauce and sweet to taste. Not even a heap of salt and lime could redeem it.The meal itself was also a let down. I didn't know you could ruin chilaquiles(fried tortillas in a red or green sauce, topped with a fried egg), but they managed. The tortillas were way too soggy from the sauce, which tasted no different than the aforementioned "salsa" and I could barely keep the food down. This was hands down one of the worst food experiences I've ever had and would not call what I ate "authentic"
Unfortunately its not the place it used to be. The fajitas for 2 was overpriced and there was no discernable difference between Chilli's and this "authentic mejican" food.Food was extremely over priced, and will talk inappropriately about your wife in Spanish right in front of you not realizing you can understand them. highly don't recommend.
I had not been there was awhile because the last time I was there the food was not good but my friend wanted Mexican food yesterday so I thought okay I will try it again, I was sorry I did!!!! The service was so bad and there was only one other table with people. at it. The margaritas were super sweet, all you can taste was the syrup totally artificial tastingWe also order the queso cheese dip and it tasted burnt, like it has been reheated all week , we did not get small plates, napkins or silverware or even water, that’s bad service!!!!I paid the bill and we went elsewhere on my way home I drove past it and at 6:00 on a Friday night and there was a single car in the parking lot. I live in the area and drive past it everyday from work and it’s never busySo yourself time and money and go somewhere elseI’ll never go back!
I ordered curbside pickup. A steak Buggy Burrito with no Mole sauce. I get home, and it has Mole sauceand it is cold. I just don't care for it. The online menu says it comes with rice and beans, I got rice only. The online menu also says 10.99. They charged me 15.83. Won't be going there again.
$30 for a beer and a steak burrito with guacamole. No where in the menu does it list rice as a filling. Yet it was 1/2 rice. I could've bought a 1/2 weeks worth of groceries instead of a steak and rice burrito. Side of guacamole was $6 on it's own.Never again
Really great food! Can't believe I didn't hear about this place sooner!
The customer service and food were both fantastic. I had the chicken tamales and they were honestly the best I've ever had.
Love, love, love Alvarez in the Park! I bring friends and family on the regular. Their Killer Margaritas are a local gem. Food is fresh, seasoned well, service is with a smile, family-owned local business must support. It won't disappoint if you love Mexican food. Dependable.
I love the owner! He remembers our orders when we walk-in, his son and daughters too. Major appreciation for your business, and it shows. Smiles run often at Alvarez. You don’t feel as much of a customer as you do family.
We absolutely love Alvarez. My family visits at least once a week. The food is so good and the atmosphere feels like home. The owners and staff are amazing and always welcoming.
