Kitschy places like this, specializing in ice cream to boot, are one of the reasons I like driving places. Rainbow Cone stood out on the street, and we passed on ice cream at their truck outside of the Field Museum earlier in the day. So hey, let’s try it out now!So how was the ice cream? It was good. Wasn’t bad. Wasn’t great. I’d probably go for Ben and Jerry’s for the price, but then you lose the parlor experience, I guess. This may be a weird comment, but I wish their excitement at the store had matched ours when ordering. Like, we had a super very strawberry sundae or whatnot in our order, said the full name of it, and the reply through the speaker was kind of ho hum, repeating back in a very vanilla way, “strawberry sundae”. Remember how I said I go for kitschy stuff? :-)They also got our order wrong. Super nice about fixing it, so that was cool.Overall, I was… whelmed. Not over-, nor under-.

The donuts are everything! Wow! They are expensive for 6 mini donuts it was $4.59! They are smaller then the munchkins from Dunkin’ Donuts, but they taste 100x better. The ice cream is good too, I liked the sorbet flavors more than their traditional ice cream. Their organization of handing out the food could be better. Loved the environment and place is really clean!

Hidden Gem!This place is unique and has great ice cream and donuts. The hot fudge sundae I had was great, but the turtle donuts I had were amazing! I will definitely return in the future to try other items on the menu.

This was my first time ever trying an original Rainbow Cone and it did not disappoint. This location has the ice cream as well as donuts so the place smells terrific. The layout of the interior was kind of sparse and uninviting but the quality of the product makes up for it. Definitely worth a trip if you've never had a Rainbow Cone!

Delicious ice cream but also recommend trying their mini donut creations - the banana Nutella is tasty but if you want to keep it a little simpler, go with glazed!

we just happen to be driving through Lombard. We saw this really cute looking ice cream parlor. We stopped in and we were amazed such a different concept we absolutely love the different flavors and how they come together. And we’re going to bring the rest of the family back next time we’re in the area. Love that it’s family owned

Cute stop. You can go in or order at the drive thru. The ice cream is pricy for the amount you get though, especially because they don't pack the cone. Everyone in my group was left with 2/3rds of an empty cone (kind of disappointing). The rainbow cone is a fun idea since you get a variety of flavors. Overall, im glad I went but it won't be a frequent stop for me. (My rainbow ice cream with waffle cone was $7.03)

THE BEST!! Super helpful staff and amazing ice cream. I was trying to transport some quarts a few hours and was looking for dry ice. Brian, the manager, told me they did not sell dry ice but knew somewhere that did and he even called them to make sure they had it in stock for me! Above and beyond service with of course the best ice cream!

Some of the nicest staff I've ever been served by. They were very accomodating for my son with a nut allergy. They even get a brand new tub of ice cream to use! He was thrilled to be able to get what he wanted without having to worry. I will definetly be bringing lots of friends and family here with me! So happy this place opened up by us!

Ice cream is good but I kind of avoid coming here and I end up just driving the extra 20 minutes to the Darien location due to an employee named “Bree” She’s simply just not pleasant it makes me feel like I’m a burden simply just ordering ice cream . But to end on a good note your employee Michelle is very nice makes sure I have everything and even gave my dog a pup cup when I asked for one .
