Unpretentious little restaurant just south of downtown Joliet on Cass St. My husband and I went with our son, daughter and her boyfriend. Had a wonderful meal. The bun on my torta was so fresh and the filling well seasoned and ample. Loved the guacamole, not seasoned with jalapeno as so many do. Mild and hot sauces available for those who like spicy. Service great, prices very reasonable. But the food, like prepared by a friend or family, really outstanding. Oh, and selection of beers... everyone was able to order their favorite. And my diet coke was frosty cold. Glad we were able to meet the owner of almost twenty years and tell him how much we enjoyed our meal.

We had a great meal at Vela's tonight. My wife and I shared chicken fajitas. The margaritas were great. The owner stopped by our table and we found out that our waitress had been with the business for 13 years. This is the kind of family business that you want to support.
1st time here and staff was friendly. Didn't order the food but had drinks. Those were good. DJ was playing Tex-Mex music, he was a hit! We will be back.
Great little place to sit and have a good cup of coffee and hang out with a friend or two, inside they have a guy playing the piano.
The owner and bartender are se of the best host I have ever met. It's my to go spot! Totally recommend.
