My wife and I run I-80 a lot and we normally stop for breakfast at an IHOP over on Harlem Avenue. The experience could be classified as sketchy at best so we decided to do something different this time. We had known of the Big Apple Pancake House because we spend a lot of time in Joliet. But it had never been our “go to”restaurant as we motored down I -80 starting a vacation trip. The change was rewarding. We had orders of……eggs, ham, home fries and toast and eggs, bacon, hash brown and toast. Our waitress Katie, was a delight, polite and efficient. She added greatly to the start of an early morning vacation. Plus, she had great nails, which we complimented her on. The physical space is old but familiar but the wait staff is welcoming and the food was delicious and plentiful. I think it will now be Larkin Avenue as opposed to Harlem Avenue.
Food was delicious and great service.. I didn't need to ask for anything. Drink was always fun, and the coffee cup was always half full, if not full...
One of our new favorite places! Friendly staff, great and fast service! Always there to refill your beverages and we recommend the cinnamon swirl French toast! I tried the eggs benedict and it was awesome!
This place used to be alright but they have gotten cheap on products. The coffee was watery. The syrup was very thin and the coffee creamers are now a cheap brand. Both meals my husband and I had was less than satisfying. I asked for my hash browns to be well done.. clearly not well done as shown in the photo.
Food is great! Lots if food to choose from on the menu. Bob the owner is great, and Jennifer is the best server, well at least to me shes is the best. All of the people that work there are nice people. If you have never been there you should try it I promise you will go back.
Carl was my server and he is kind! I ordered the Farmers omlete, grits, fluffy pancakes and coffee for $15. As you can see the omelet is huge and I was defeated. Thank god for the coffee because I would be in a coma and would not make it home. My omelet was seasoned y'alllllll ??♀️ #periodt
Linda is one of our favorite waitress. The service is excellent. Prices are good. Food is good.
Would definitely recommend. Food and service were both excellent. I had the Mama's Skillet, mywife had biscuits and gravy, and my son had a cheeseburger which came with fries and chicken rice soup. Coffee is excellent as well. Waitress always kept our cups filled. Portion size was nice and prices were reasonable. Overall a great Sunday family breakfast .
Large portions of food for the price. Big selection of foods. Food is excellent. Serving staff is awesome.
Big Apple Pancake House was amazing!! We had a softball tournament get rained out and called with little notice and they accommodated our group of 20! The food was fantastic and our server Linda was top notch! 5 stars all day!!!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
