I loved this restaurant. I received very good service. The ambiance was what one would expect for a nice steakhouse. I got a New York strip that was very very good. Nice wine selection as well
Well since I started another job up north close to Gurnee working in my usual field of drafting I was invited to a farewell party to a coworker who's worked there for so many years and they took him to the best. Surprisingly they took me to the best because we got to order whatever we had despite that this was a work-related and not on my own accord but I will be coming back here on my own accord. Beware the prices are somewhat high for steak but then again it makes it for the quality since I've never been here and it's my first time trying Steven's steakhouse in a very low-key area next to Great America on Washington Street buy a strip plaza I was familiar with when I used to do my college meetups up here long ago in mid-2000s and a few times in the 90s traveling to Waukegan Gurnee area. Anyways the food is fabulous. Starting off with the coconut shrimp that I was even thinking that everybody else was stinking. The shrimp was just the right size the batter that it was made in was just the amount that was not to full of batter likewise with the coconut the sauce that they use. The calamari was also delicious too they didn't also bread too much or batter too much over the squid and they gave you two choices of sauce which was actually pretty good. There is a lot of very good dishes I wanted that day between lamb chops and the steak since I haven't had steak for a while at a steakhouse and this place didn't disappoint. I ordered the 11 oz New York strip medium rare and I had a choice of sides I went for a more healthier approach avoiding carbs by eating a broccoli and the way they cook the broccoli was not to hot and moist. If not soggy. I ended my pallet with a dessert I haven't had which is creme brulee which was also very delicious the caramelization on the custard was just the right amount on the surface and the right amount of fruits they put on the creme brulee. I will be going back on my own to trying the lamb chops. As well as the beef wellington that my coworkers had mentioned about here and I'm not a big fan of beef Wellington. Do note to people that the prices are somewhat pricey it's like over $20 for each entree the main entree and like the appetizers are over $15 from what I saw briefly despite displaying the menu on my review. A underrated steakhouse in the Northern lake county suburbs that needs to get the hype.
The food here was excellent. Absolutely delicious steak, the seafood pasta special, and the red snapper was insane!! Our server, joe, was excellent and made great recommendations. Really nice bartenders. Highly highly recommend!
We have never been here before and we where disappointed. I hadn’t had good lamb chops in a while so I wanted to try them. They where all different thicknesses so none where cooked the same. They ranged from super rare to well done. Manager did take it off the bill so that kept this review from being lower. My wife had the steak medallions with three sauces. One sauce she didn’t get, and one medallion was super rare we didn’t mention that to the manager because we didn’t want to seem like we where just trying to get free stuff. The drinks where good and the mushrooms and asparagus where good. Was disappointed with the server. He never checked on us after we got the food after we where served. I ended up eating the pork chops just because I was hungry and well he never came back. We had to flag him down just to get our check and let him know about the chops. Over all I don’t know that we will come back.
Comfortable and pleasant environment. Food is good. During our most recent visit, our waiter was excellent. He knew his stuff! We hadn't been to Stevens' for several years (no particular reason), so we were pleased to see that it was as good if not better than the last time. With more visits in the near future, I hope to up my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Very much recommend it, and particularly for special occasions.
Party of 10 to celebrate my nephew's Navy boot camp graduation and this was a great choice for lunch. Nice ambiance. Friendly and attentive staff. There was a nice selection of food. I had the beef Wellington, other people ordered different kinds of burgers, pasta and the cowboy ribeye steak. Everything was delicious. Will definitely come back soon. Thank you.
The food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. Our sailor had just graduated and not only the restaurant staff, but the clientele were super. Lupe, our waitress, was just unbelievable with her knowledge and recommendations and made our sailor feel like a king. I would highly recommend this eatery to any families looking for something nearby in Great Lakes Illinois for their sailors first liberty meal.
I've waited about 10 years to return and give this steakhouse a second chance, and I'm glad I came back!The service was efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere was that of a comfortable steakhouse without feeling too stuffy. The whole meal was completely on point; my ribeye steak was perfect, my soup delicious as was the salad and bread. The wine list is a bit light on the red side, but good selection nonetheless.
If your a dumb careless and non picky enjoy. I got cold over logged baked ( browning) potatoes, cold butter That did not melt in the potato. A burnt charbroil dirty grill New York, 44$ and over done. Did not enjoy or eat. Lamb chop appetizer that had NO FLAVOR , AND SALAD DRESSING DID NOT HAVE ANY FlavorsI WAS very, very disappointed ☹️ and could not send a enemy to eat there. The water was fine! , $350. Before tip, for ,4. Poor quality to me. But as a restaurant owner, I like my food the way I like it. .
Had our office Christmas party there in a private room last night and had an amazing experience. I booked with Brad in October He was fantastic to deal with and so incredibly helpful and kind. When I got there he made sure to check in with me to see if the room was to my satisfaction(beautifully decorated) and made sure to let me know he was there all night if I needed anything..I wish I knew the name of the server we had because he was top notch!!! We were a party of 15 and he kept up with the drinks during our cocktail and appetizer ( calamari, shrimp cocktail the size of small children and the bruschetta were amazing) hour like a champ. When we finally settled into our seats he made sure everyone was comfortable had time to look over the menu and took our orders perfectly. The food did not take long to come out for a big group and was made to perfection. Everyone loved the meals they chose from the full menu. Desserts were ordered and again delicious. The fact that the restaurant had pretty much closed by the time WE decided to leave and were not rushed at all was also fantastic. Thank you for helping make this one of the best Christmas party’s I’ve ever been to. I would highly recommend giving them a shot for your function.
