My husband and I used to go to Saluto’s regularly and always enjoyed it. We ate there last night and were very disappointed with both the food and the service. The pasta was awful. It was rubbery as though it had been sitting for hours. My husband had fettuccine Alfredo which arrived cold. The sauce was was literally lumpy. My pasta was over cooked and again, tasted as though it sat for hours. We ate only the side salads and I ate two meatballs. Our server never stopped to ask how dinner was or to clear the dishes. ( the dining room was not busy). When she finally came to the table we explained that we were not happy with the meal. She could see that my husband did not eat any of his entree. She said that she would get the manager who never came to speak to us. She came back with a bill charging $11.00 apiece for the two small side salads which were mainly iceberg lettuce. $22.00 for two small side salads??? They also charged for the 2 meatballs. When we asked to speak to the manager she didn’t even ask what we were unhappy with or apologize for our dissatisfaction with the meal. She was rude and said, “This is homemade pasta. There is nothing wrong with our food. “ Every restaurant has had a tough time in the past two years and any place can have a bad night. This manager’s demeanor and complete lack of concern for our disappointment with the experience certainly explains the poor food and service at Saluto’s. We will not go back.

We used to go to Salutos fairly regular the food was consistently good and the service as well. I know the pandemic has had a large effect on their industry more than most. As the food was not to my liking and spoke with our server. This is what I said we did eat the salads and my wife at her one meatball along with our ice tea and we were happy too pay for that. She said she will speak with the owner. The server returned with a bill for 2 salads @ $ 11.00 each and that’s for a side salad ugh. Everything else on the bill was fairly priced. I went to the cashier which was the same person that either was the owner or manager and asked about the price of the salads First I would like to say no apologies or anything about our experience here but was very forceful about the pricing on their side salads and then further explained to us that there is nothing wrong with the food that was served. Ok well we all have our options but really no I’m sorry or what can they do again $11.00 for a side salad that comes with the meal say it all I can say.

Really disappointed in this restaurant. It was probably 78-80 degrees in the dining room, very warm and uncomfortable stuffy air. Hostess /owner did not even greet us, she just looked at us and said "two?". I ordered angel hair pasta with half pesto sauce and half garlic Alfredo with chicken breast. The sauces were good, but the chicken had absolutely no flavor at all, and it was stringy. The pasta noodles were so mushy it was like eating mashed potatoes. I will definitely never be back. If you're looking for real Italian food, I suggest Maria's in Highwood. No comparison to this place, even Olive Garden would be a better choice than Salutos

Considering its horrible reviews, I decided to have some mercy for this place and see if it would give me the benefit of the doubt. Honestly the only good thing about this place is their salad dressing and sour dough bread. Other than that, the food is tasteless and low quality. Their “fettuccine alfredo” is super bland and the noodles are so thick and disgusting. Their “cannelloni” is watery and bland. Nothing appetizing about their menu. Definitely not real Italian food. I almost want to drop off my whole seasoning assortment to them to enhance their flavoring. Don’t waste your money and TIME here. It’s expensive, gross, and low end. By the way, the wait is outrageous. The outside looks dated and terrifying. Not inviting whatsoever. Safe to say their food matches it’s outdoor and indoor designs. In conclusion, you’re going to spend a lot of money on boring food. Never again. I’m calling Gordon Ramsay for this one.

I had high expectations going in given the cozy atmosphere and high prices. I was however seriously disappointed. When we first got in we had to listen to the owner yell at the staff attendant. It was loud and inappropriate I truly felt bad for her. The food was terrible. Bland to the point of being almost inedible. Had a chicken Alfredo which was just a flavorless roux with unseasoned chicken and over cooked noodles. Order a pizza for the table. It would have been good if the chicken was seasoned. But they don't add seasoning to the chicken before they make the pizza. Very disappointing for the price. I think if we had ordered a pepperoni, or a meat with more natural seasoning we wouldn't have noticed how little flavoring they use. The one redeeming quality was the salad dressing which was notably tasty. They sell it at the front of the store, we were informed that people buy it and use it for dressing and marinating.. It's funny since they don't marinate their own chicken.. Over priced and painfully underwhelming. Waste of money.

We were very surprised how bad the pizza was with the long history of pizza making they have. No sauce, paper thin sliced veggies which cooked to chewy leather, sausage not good and cheese like plastic. Absolutely the worst pizza and we have had a thousand pizza's. Very nice place and service was not good. She was very nice but not tentative at all and place was Hal empty. We use the 3 strikes your out rule but not here. Too many good pizza places to waste our money here!

I went there for dinner and when the hostess seated me she proceeded to light a candle. I asked her to please not light the candle because I have bad allergies. She made a face, said that it was "just oil" and stomped away. Ten minutes later she seated a couple at the very next table, (even though there were a dozen tables open), and proceeded to light their candle and place it on my side of their table, glancing right at me as she walked away. My nose immediately became inflamed and I got a sudden migraine, so I quickly paid for my appetizer and left. I also went there last week for lunch. I was reading a book while waiting for service, they turned the lights down so low that it was impossible to read. I asked if they could turn up the lights just a bit and they said no, even though there was only one other table being used in the entire restaurant, so I had the server pack my food to go and went home. I feel that $23 for a plate of spaghetti with meatballs and a salad with one dinner roll is a bit much for what you get and obviously they could care less about their customer's comfort or experience.

Service was average. I sat at bar for over minutes waiting to get acknowledged. 3 people behind bar. 6 customers. Need better wine selection. Apps average. Still like like the place and food. Would recommend to others.

The atmosphere resembles a nice mom and pop Italian restaurant. The staff was very nice and polite. The food was unfortunately underwhelming. My girlfriend had the spaghetti, a very simple dish that any Italian restaurant should be able to make. However it was very bland and the noodles were over cooked. I had the philly cheese steak, the meat was bland and tasteless. I didn't realize that it would have mushrooms on it and that was my fault not the restaurant's, however after I removed the mushrooms I was left with only half a sandwich. Unfortunately the best part of the meal was the salad. Personally I will not be coming back for the Italian food however I will come back to try the pizza which the restaurant is mostly known for.
