Newish breakfast spot that does primarily Mexican inspired breakfasts. Run by a group of young and relatively inexperienced folks. Coffee was meh. I asked for milk with the coffee and i got cream. I ordered the carnitas Benedict breakfast and it came out cold. The green salsa they served with it was very tasty. I told my server and she sent the owner. The owner was apologetic. She explained that the avocado was in the refrigerator and that it cooled down the rest of the dish. My take here is that an inexperienced restauranteur with a lightly experienced staff is experiencing newbie growing pains. Good news is that they are asking questions. If they use this information this little place could become a cute local spot for Mexican inspired breakfast. Atmosphere is basic cafeteria. Best part of the experience was the charming greater.
First time here and felt the staff was very friendly. Team oriented staff, helping each other out. Food was great and enjoyed my cinnamon roll latte.
Great safe and cozy place. Welcoming for families and perfect for lounging or studying during less busy hours. Big and clean, food is always filling and tastes fresh. Coffee and juice are great! Owner is super friendly. Place is the best!
My son & I had breakfast there today, 1/30, I had seen an ad & wanted to try it. Open spacious area, pretty tables well spaced, but food was excellent! A good variety of coffee & lattes, teas, and breakfast/lunch offerings. He had veg skillet & home made engl. muffins, (yes!) I had just eggs & pancakes, but all grown locally, etc. Good waitress, will definitely go back & also recommend!
Thought we would tried this place today. Never will go back. Got there at around 7am place was empty. Service was slow and took forever to get our food. Pancakes looked like crepe batter thin and no taste. Oatmeal was not cooked just some hot water on oats. Coffee was the only thing that was good. 35.00 for breakfast is unacceptable. ?
Always a great experience! I have tried the avocado toast with eggs, pancakes, and a few other things and everything is fresh, consistent and tastes great! Staff is happy! Owner is an amazing for all the things she does for our community in Gurnee. New specialty drinks, unique specials, a comfortable space to work or enjoy a drink, seating outside in the warm weather, you can't go wrong. I recommend Riverside Cafe!
The best restaurant in Lake County. Hands down! The only thing I wish is that they had longer hours for dinner.

We got there super early. The food was great, didn't enjoy paying $3 for a can of diet coke. I got the Mexican skillet, but it was missing the skillet. Plus, I got the banana strawberry Pecan pancakes, but it was really good. Overall really good, but they also charged us a dollar for a tiny cup of salsa. You charge for flavor? That's like charging for salt.
