Super fast dine in Birthday lunch before seeing TOPGUN Maverick with Mom and brother. Super friendly staff got busy but was able to find our finished order when we asked. It was amazing to see the how fast orders were completed with almost no waiting.Thanks for the Birthday Meal.I wish we could have tried the chocolate cake, we heard it's Out Of this World.Thank you to all the associates working very hard to make such a great experience.

Its called Potillo's Hot Dogs.... the hot dogs were great! The Italian beef sandwich was disappointing to me. It came with no veggies, just meat, and when I picked up my order, it was missing 2 items. The burger was not too bad, but I would prefer it from a different location. The Hot Dog (maxwell) is a must though, it was definitely great. Small soda looks like a medium, onion rings were delicious, fries are not too bad.
Portillo’s is one our favorite places to eat. I don’t think I have ever had something I don’t like. Their Italian beef sandwiches, Polish sausages, hot dogs, onion rings, and salads are incredible! My wife’s favorite is the strawberry shortcake!
Tonight I ordered a beef, a combo with sweet pepers, large fries and a lemon cake thru the app. The ordering process went smooth, the food was ready when promised, the beef was good, the sausage in the combo was burnt on one side and there was just two small pieces of peppers, not a norm. The large frie container was filled only 3/4 of the way and undercooked, still tasted like a raw potato, I put them in the toaster oven to finish them.I've ate a lot of Portillos over the years at a lot of locations but I think after they were sold, service and food quality has slowly been sliding in the win direction.
Best Fish Sandwich in town (although they did change the bun). The line at this location is always very long anytime of day. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated. Sometimes I find the music or the speakers to be kind of loud. I really love Portillo’s food. My only complaint would be please keep the lemon cake available on the menu all year! ❤️
This location is a joke. Plenty of staff working at a leisurely pace. Guy filling and handing drinks to his coworker yanks the cup away every time when she tried to take it as a joke. Got an insolent look back from him when he caught me watching him do that. Manager obviously too afraid to reprimand staff. Joking and dancing employees behind the counter and long lines of customers waiting. Some orders not even filled. Will never visit this location again. Hope the other Portillo’s locations aren’t this bad.
The food is good don't get me wrong, but their service needs a major tuneup. Previous experience going there, I LOVED their portobello burger. Order one and get home only to see no mushroom, and instead a GIANT hunk of lettuce drenched in balsamic vinegar. When we called the customer service number it rang for over a half hour only for us to be disconnected.Yesterday my partner and I decided to go to try their new strawberry lemon cake shakes, and also decided on a small cheese fry. Waited almost an HOUR. Finally we went to see how long it was going to be, and they had no clue about our order at all. Said it would be another 15-20 minutes. We declined and got a refund and left.Like I said, their food is really good, but their service is very low bar and needs major work.
The last 2 times we've ordered from here they have done an aweful job. This is what they consider a beef 3x's dipped. It's barely even wetand there is no meat on it. They also have forgotten to give us the tamale both times we've ordered. Honestly this will probably be the last time I eat from the Gurnee location. Truly disappointing that they cant get a simple order accurate especially for the amount of money their employees get paid.
Absolutely horrible service. No one should have to wait an additional hour after placing an order to be picked up at a specific time. Placed for curbside and I still had to go inside to retrieve my order. I wasn’t the only person with this dilemma. They need more staff or better training because this was not the first time this has happened.
They deserve “0” stars. The confusion and disarray is from the moment you walk in all the way till you walk out. Cashiers are slow. Waiting for food what is a complete nightmare. I watched how disorganized and unprofessional these employees were to the point if I was a manager I probably fired half of them. The big lady who was putting together the meals for the customers kept rearranging her breast continuously it was downright disgusting. The girl with the long long dreadlocks had no idea what the hell she was doing and then she was giving customers attitude due to her lack of knowledge and confusion. Orders were Continuously messed up and o watched people waiting for their food for over 30 min. And let’s not forget the lady that kept talking over the Speaker calling one employee at a time and saying over the speaker do you want to know how much you’re making come and see me….how unprofessional can you get. The location is dirty unprofessional never ever would I ever go back.
