First time for Japanese cuisine seemed quite legit. Seems pricey but the portions are huge . I was unable to eat everyone else's food which never happens.
We’ve been coming here for a long time and the food is always great! Seafood udon for cold, rainy days is always a fav. The owner is super sweet, she always recognizes us and always happy to see us.
Loved the tempura, gyoza, and rolls. Will definitely be back.
Completely blown away with how amazing this restaurant was!! I was going to take pictures of my food but I basically inhaled it since it was so tasty!!! The servers were fun and friendly. The Udon was delicious and their variety for the Sashimi was a surprise! I will definitely be coming back!!
Nabeyaki Udon is my favorite.
simply the best Japanese food around. been in the neighborhood a long time. run by kind people. we get food from Hayashi for every birthday. my favorite is chicken katsu. try the udon during the cold months it's like a fuzzy sweater for your tummy.
Super disappointed this was my absolute favorite place nearby for last 4 years. I supported them during COVID 19 . Always left tips even during pick up. Today I called to order my typical order typically 80-100$ today was a little smaller just 70$ which include butter mussels. All I asked was hey can you add couple more pieces of mussels in I’ll pay extra thinking it’s like a dollar or 2 more. I can here the guy who answered had no idea if that can be done and went to the owner or manager who told him if it’s 6.96 for 5 pieces that’s 1.39 per mussel he comes back to tell me 4$ extra for another four pieces. Although I get the cost break down I questioned this as normally when you are a long standing loyal customer you either get it added for free is a discount for sure …. Nope not here when I questioned why I can hear the owner in the background saying “ tell him no if he doesn’t want it “. That’s sad I loved this place and now have to go blue fish in Vernon hills which is farther or tsukasa at least they treat loyal customer with common courtesy !
We have gone here for years as our go-to local sushi place. For the past few months, service and accuracy of orders have been terrible. We will not be going back anymore. This was not at one time thing, I've given them multiple chances, and they just can't get things together.
First time here. Service and atmosphere was spectacular. Food was incredible. I would really recommend stopping in you won't regret it
Super cozy spot with delicious authentic food. Atmosphere is very welcoming and homey. Our waitress was very nice too.The tiger-eye roll is a super unique appetizer and something I’d totally recommend! Their maki was fresh and bursted with flavor- could use some work on presentation though. My favorite part though, has got to be the bento! Good portions and the tempura is what I’ll keep coming back for. It’s actually authentic!!! Ultra crispy and cooked well.
