I went for lunch... it was my first time at Whiskey River, and the owner, Kathy, was very friendly and tentative to my table. Provided quick service, and the food was good (curly fries were a bit overcooked, but everything else was fine).
Thursday night kareoke is always fun!! Delic food, great drinks, fair prices, always a good crowd, hommy & great atmosphere!
All bar patrons agree that Potato Creek Johnny’s is a better name than Whiskey River. Whiskey River is to hard to pronounce.
Never been so publicly humiliated in my life, bar staff recommended I use women's restroom in front of my friends and family.Is there no refuge in this town?!
This is a bar in Glenview with the vibe of a Wisconsin backwoods bar, pine paneling and all. It's tucked out of the way off Waukegan Rd, so pay attention to their sign. Also heed their warning about parking, and don't park in the lot across the street.I'd have given them another star, except that, like Wisconsin, their staff, and most patrons, are unmasked completely and seem oblivious to the pandemic. Their staff was also a bit slow on the uptake when trying to order, and the medium-rare burger I ordered came out closer to welldone.That said, the staff were friendly and easy to get along with.
Aggravating to be turned away from the bar on a Sunday evening after work because of a private event. This is a bar that I would go to after work on Sunday to unwind and catch a game, but sometimes it is off limits. It is hard to be a loyal customer when the bar can decide not to serve you tonite.
Great people, friendly, typical bar atmosphere. Food was typical bar food, nothing special but the Greek salad did not disappoint!
This is a fun place, with a old time feel. Staff was friendly. Food was what you would expect for bar food. There was live music and it had a very relaxing atmosphere. Great hangout place!
Best bar very comfortable and clean the staff is amazing. Ask for Alicia/lece she is the sweetest and best conversation . This is my new favorite bar because of her I drive 40 mins just to go .They have kareoke nights a nice juke box and live music friday and Saturdays.
Love the place! Bartenders are super friendly - plus Kathy is the best!
