The Egg Harbor Cafe also known as the Glen Harbor Cafe has been serving the Glenview area for many, many years. The food is fresh with quality ingredients. There are several unique dishes one may not find at other breakfast or brunch restaurants. The price point is moderate. This is a great restaurant for vegetarians, vegans, and the carnivorous individuals. I always enjoy their eggs benedict as well as French toast. The service is friendly and prompt. The coffee is amazing. The restaurant is great for families, couples, large groups and a gathering of friends. It gets loud and crowded. Want to beat the crowd? Come during the first 2 hours when they open -- the earlier one comes -- the less crowds and noise.
We always go here for breakfast, but this time I decided to try their lunch, OMG the tuna melt is the best Tuna Melt I ever had.My son is now 15 and the only reason why he likes to go here to have the breakfast for champions. This place is always busy but I’m glad I can put my name on the wait list before arriving.
Reliable, comfortable and friendly
Food was good. I had ordered over the phone for pick up. I asked for the status of my order and they said another 5-10 minutes. I then waited in the front lobby. At this point I had placed my order 40 minutes ago. 15 minutes later I asked for an update on my order. They then proceeded to check the shelf next to the front podium and my order was there the entire time.Good quality was good, but the kids up front need more training. I failed to check if they had given me utensils, hot sauce (as requested), and napkins, but that’s on me. I was in a rush since I had wasted 15 minutes sitting around.
They didn't say but it felt like they were having staffing issues. Orders were taken late and food was not as warm as jt should have been. But it was tasty. and the staff was very responsive to our points.
I've always loved coming here for breakfast or lunch! My favorite is the classic eggs benedict. They have other breakfast options for everyone. I also like how they have specials during the holidays. The staff is always so friendly and they are always greeting everyone. If you haven't tried this place you definitely should it's also family-owned so it's great to support locals!
My wife and I enjoy their omelettes! The food is always amazing! We love the coffee too.
Great food and great service. Location is great for Metra riders. Location is clean. The are tech savvy since I can pay on my phone right at the table!I had the Habanero Hash and was able to sub avocado for toast. It was spicy and tasty.My wife had the Eggs Arlington which was a perfect take on eggs Benedict.
Overall good but bacon was not well done as asked for so they brought it back to the kitchen and microwaved it....potatoes were rather raw definitely need more cooking time, home made jam was very good.
This place was excellent all the way up until covid. Now it is filled with workers who do not care. Service is horrible. Takes forever to get your order taken. If there is a mistake on the order and you tell the server, no one does anything to fix the issue. Horrible restaurant. I get better service at McDonalds.
