I had high hope for this place and the staff was very friendly in explaining the menu however, with their AC being out, it was really hot in there and I can only imagine how hot it was in the kitchen. Ordered their famous gangster burger and asked for medium rare - what I got was beyond cooked meat that hard to bite into. The fries were over fried and close to burned. Disappointed.

I visited the Culinary Gangster truck during a concert last night at the RiverEdge Park in Aurora. Wow! Best food truck food ever!! I had the street gyro and my only regret was that I couldn't finish the whole (huge!) thing. Seriously the best gyro and amazing service, too, even in the middle of a downpour. (They were kind enough to let me hang out under their awning until it let up.)

Delicious place. I had the raspberry Spinach Wrap (10/10) the other day and absolutely loved it. Decided to come back to get the full salad, but they used feta cheese instead of goat and I was already home by the time I realized. Still really tasty, but not exactly what I wanted. Great place to try though!

Not sure if the guy that was in when we were there was the owner, but he got the food out to us really quick. The gyro burger that I got was really greasy, but hey, it was really good! If you order cheese fries, just know that you will get one of those large boats.

Delicious! Went on a whim and you got your money's worth. Could use more seating. We sampled about 5 things and could not finish. Highly recommend.

Really good food! Pricey for burgers and a VERY limited atmosphere. Think of it as a superior five guys.

Cool, clean décor and great service. I had a mushroom swiss burger which was delicious. Second time had chicken tziki pita and I say this not as a complaint but just to offer feedback. It fell apart snd was super messy because everything is chopped pretty small. Tasted great so I ate it like a salad with a fork.

After waiting ages for our drinks, when the food did eventually arrive, it wasn't very warm. Tasteless, greasy and the fries were unedible! Far too much salt!Owner has a very bad attitude and rude! No wonder our server looked so demoralised and miserable!Definitely won't be coming here again. Take my advice of being a chef for the past 30 years! AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Culinary Gangster Glenview is less than a mile from my house. Ordered a burger there once before when they were new but hadn't tried it since then until today.Normally for a burger, to eat in or take out, I go a little farther North up Waukegan Ave to the nice Valley Lodge Restaurant. Valley Lodge has a very good 1/2 lb burger which is less expensive than Culinary Gangster's burger because it includes a choice of fries, sweet potato fries, baked potato, and more, as well as a whole bunch of fixins to choose from in their online takeout menu for $14. Culinary Gangster will cost more with fries being an extra charge but is also a decent 1/2 lb burger. At CG I ordered the Cheddar Bacon Burger special with fries and a drink for $16. The burger was cooked the way I ordered, was ready on time, and tasted pretty good but I was disappointed that the bacon was just bacon bits, not a couple of strips of fresh bacon which I expected. Also, at CG, if you want lettuce, tomato, raw or grilled onions, pickles, etc. which are included with most every decent burger anywhere else, you have to remember to request it separately in your order notes. On the Valley Lodge website you will see a whole long list of free add-ons and just check the boxes for what you would like included. The fries at CG were too salty for me to eat. Most of the places I eat at these days don't put salt on their fries, but not all, so I should have ordered my fries with no salt and would do so in the future. All in all, I would give CG another try and try something else on their menus (only place I know with 3 separate menus) as I have only had the burgers. If their other menu choices were very good I would probably give CG 3.5 stars if I were able, but the prices at CG are above market for a takeout joint in Glenview. Culinary Gangster's prices shouldn't be higher than a nice sit down restaurant like Valley Lodge and other restaurants in the neighborhood which have much higher costs for labor and real estate.

Only thing slower than the service is the owner.
