Terrible service and terrible food. Brisket sandwich came out with a burned bun and I mean black. Told our server and he he brought out a bun. I asked him if we were suppose to make the sandwich at the table. He then gave me the meanest look and took the sandwich.A couple minutes later he brings out the sandwich with a bun right out of the wrapper not toasted and you could tell they just plopped everything off the other sandwich onto this bun. They didn’t bring out fresh fried, just a few (I counted 6) in a little pan. This was our first visit and our last. Too bad we live right down the street, but there are too many other good restaurants. This was a waste of money.
This is literally the meal and best service I have had in my life! I can't recommend this place more! They take their covid precautions very seriously and have a truely welcoming staff. The manager (I think) was checking in a took genuine stock in customer feed back. The food was melt in your mouth amazing bbq and expertly crafted beers! 10/10 would recommend
Located near USC.. it's a tight spot and packed .. so well worth the wait to get a seat in the house.. but it's too good to walk away .. I really love the Corn esquites.lA creamy corn in a cup cousin to the elote street food favorite.i enjoyed the Mutt Dog half red half green god on a lobster roll. Also veggie dog is available soy based .
I had a truly terrible experience tonight. After finishing work on campus, I came by Smylie Bros for a drink and food. I was so excited. But when I arrived I asked for a table and was told that they would not give me a table because I was alone. They said I could eat at the bar downstairs or upstairs, but that they could not give me a table. I asked if I could just sit at a small two person table, and they said they could not give me a table because I'm alone. This was truly horrible. I understand that they have to make money, I truly do; but whether I am one versus two people shouldn't make a huge difference. It is hard enough to eat alone sometimes, but to be told repeatedly that they could not give me a table specifically because I was by myself was upsetting. I won't ever return here, even though I've enjoyed it in the past. Even though you need to make money, I encourage this business to consider how they communicate with customers, and whether there is a way to not be so horrible moving forward.
Service was good, fun atmosphere, tasty beer. Appetizers would've been better if they'd been hot.
We took our son to Smylie Bros for his 19th birthday celebration because it’s his favorite place. We had the most amazing server named Ryan! He went above and beyond, hands down, he asked detailed questions about everyone’s preferences, he remembered everything and made extra effort to take care of our needs. The food and drinks were superb, delicious a d memorable but Ryan is the reason we will be back!!
Had the barbecue flight last night. The brisket and ribs were outstanding! If you enjoy barbecue I strongly recommend checking out Smylie Brothers Brewering.
Showed up as a group of 6 cyclists on a Sunday mid afternoon. Approximately 8-10 open tables outside. We asked to push 2 tables together and were declined with a strict 4 person limit per table. Fair enough, can we sit 3 and 3 on separate checks and not push the tables together? No. Could we sit 3 and 3 several tables apart? No.But we were welcomed to sit 6 inside during covid. Needless to say, I do not know how the beer or food are because we were declined service. Horrible experience, we will not be back, and neither should you.Adding a second star because we did show up “unannounced” as a group of 6 to an open patio.
Unprofessional, disrespectful, intimidating, confrontational & immature. That's how I can describe the hosts, bartenders & manager at Smylie Brothers on 7/30/21 because of the way they humiliated our group of 8 while hoping to celebrate our 63 year old coworker's last day at work before his journey into retirement. And this was at 3:30 pm with the place near empty. A couple of them had looks on their faces like they wanted to fight us...and 5 out of 8 of us in the group are grandparents. So we paid for our 1 round of beers, then had a great time at FIVE & DIME on Davis St.
I'd have liked to try this place, but don't know that I'll ever get to. Due to the private event menu, attractive photos and great location, I really wanted to hold my son's rehearsal dinner there. I emailed the address designated for private parties ("[email protected]") on May 11th, inquiring about having the rehearsal dinner. When I hadn't heard by July 25th, I called and, when the hostess answered, I asked to speak with someone about a private party. She said they weren't booking private events "at this time." I said "What about an event in December." She replied "As I said, we aren't booking private events...but I could give you the email for the person who handles those." I told her I had emailed that person two and a half months ago and never heard back, so I guess I had all the information I needed. I should have added "then maybe you should remove your special events page and menu from your website."
