The sandwich was really amazing. The sausage remind me of deep dish pizza sausage in peaquads. All right amount of spices. Thanks to the employees who confirmed with the owner over phone whether it doesn’t contain beef at all. The pictures around the restaurant walls are very iconic.
I went and ordered a steak sandwich and cheese fries. First off it was almost $20, and the steak was fatty and tough. Also the cheese sauce they gave me looked to be oily and chunky. Definitely wont be going back.
I worked at the near by hospital for more than a decade. This was one of my lunch spots. The owner was always nice and welcoming, so was the staff. Had to stop in while I'm the area. Consistency is key. The grilled chicken sandwich was as delicious as all the times before. Totally recommend.
We really had fun here. We drove an hour to eat their really fantastic Chicago Hot Dog and fries. Sat at a little counter by a window and watched it rain. Can not wait for summer so we can eat outdoors.
Great dogs 50 years ago to eat while watching the parade! Looking around Evanston, haven't seen it in many years....what a surprise to see this familiar place is still here. Sorry I said, "Daddy these spoons don't look greasy!" those many years ago. How funny.....he's gone now.
Paid $35 dollars for lunch for my husband and I, and BOTH of our orders were wrong! Even after being told by the cashier twice what our request was.

I don’t even like hot dogs, but I get their dogs every time. Also, they have the best fries I’ve ever had (even better than McD’s, which used to be my favorite).

It was weird having a Chicago dog with mustard but when in Rome I guess.... It was a really good dog and the fries were good too. Definitely see why this stand has been here for decades!
