Ordered the Chicken Pad Thai - would not recommend. Limited flavor and poorly cooked chicken. I ended throwing it all away because I was worried about getting food poisoning.
Definitely another "not my first time here, but first Google Review" for this place! Been coming here for many years and the friendly service and hearty quality of food has remained the same. This Joy Yee's relocated down the street on the corner from their original location. I have ordered take-out from this new location during the height of COVID-19, but this review is for dining in for the first time since their move. Pictured and ordered here are Crab Rangoon, Fried Shrimp Shumai, Orange Chicken (served w/ Steamed White Rice on the side), and Tom Yum Chicken Soup (also served w/ Steamed White Rice on the side) (video also posted in my Photos and Joy Yee's Photos>Videos). First time having the Tom Yum Chicken Soup and it was a very large portion (can serve 2, I think) and had a nice level of heat! Would order the Tom Yum Shrimp Soup next time. Would have loved to order one of their famous smoothies with tapioca but was way too stuffed. Definitely next time!
Loved their huge variety of drinks and Smoothies. Hands down the best place for smoothies. The selection of toppings for the drinks is also amazing. Never seen something like that anywhere else. The food is absolutely delicious too! Good portion sizes.
This is the Best Restaurant in Illinois! The Food are absolutely Delicious! Would've gave it Five Stars, but there is something that sets me back from Giving me that Rating. They Recently Moved their Restaurant, and it doesn’t feel the same going to their Restaurant anymore with the new Layout. Loved the old one better, with the Green Walls. Overall, it's an Amazing Restaurant, and I'd Love to Enjoy their Food again.
I must admit this location makes their drink way better than the one in Chinatown. Last year I told myself I’m not going to joy yee anymore since it’s gone downhill but today they made a mistake on my daughters drink and told me to keep the wrong one. I tried it and boy did it taste good!
My husband and I ordered wonton chicken soup and wonton beef soup, both were super delicious. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.
Very large menu. Always clean and consistent. Food takes 5-20 minutes, which is shockingly fast for the quality. The bubble tea and drink selection is extremely extensive as well. Lots of vegetarian choices!
Great food as always. Service was good
Our delivery order was awful. We rarely waste food but ended up tossing many leftovers. Had beef, chicken and veggies. Never again.
Always crowded but the food is actually good!! The service sucks so badly which how crowded they are so you’ll wait so long just for a water or to put in your order but the food itself it good. It is pricey but maybe that’s just Evanston idk
