Cordial! Clean! Timely!A mid-Saturday afternoon experience worth repeating and sharing.Shanise, is the perfect example of what it means to work as a team. Our server Alexis was busy, but instead of having us wait, Shanise stood in the gap for her job and preserved their image. We were surprised to see how quickly our meal came. The presentation, neat. Not over bearing nor cluttered. Our requested drink, fruit-punch- equal parts orange, cranberry, and pineapple with a dash of Angostura betas adorned with a cherry turned out to be flavorful.Whether, like us, you are thinking of some good Caribbean Ox tail, or salt fish with calalou, ackee, or fried dumplings, and plantains, “Good to Go” is a must for your next Evanston or Chicago stop in Illinois.
To start....I will ABSOLUTELY be back! Today was our first time we sat on the rooftop and we loved everything. We had a Bob Marly to drink and a Rum Punch Mimosa. We ordered ox tail egg rolls but the male server gave it to the wrong table which just gives me more to look forward to next time. My Honey had the lobster in garlic butter, steamed veggies, and Mac and cheese. I had the Jamaican fried chicken, greens, yams and Mac! The sauce that comes with the chicken is literally the new love of my life!!! We enjoyed our Sunday afternoon out and can't wait to return. Another couple was there for the first time as well and shared the same sentiment!
I didn't care for the oxtail rolls or mac & cheese but overall so much we had was delicious! Jerk wings, Curry goat and Brown Stew Chicken were delicious with the cornbread, candied yams and rice.Peach cobbler for dessert which we took home and added ice cream. Definitely wasn't a cheap meal for two of us but I would go again!
This was my first time eating here and OH. MY. GOD?. It was uh-mazing (which is better than amazing). The food is beyond wonderful. I had the brown stew snapper, rice and peas and steamed Cabbage. The rice and peas were outstandingly delicious. My drink, my drink........my drink though?. It was a pink starburst and trust me when I say "Hakeem" could be the pide piper just for the drink alone. At the same time, my homemade mango cheesecake tasted like Sweet baby Jesus himself had reached down and touched it. It was that good...I mean, no really it was. Seriously, it was. Like all jokes aside, it was. It was just that great..and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I was originally going to take it to go but it was to good ?. I'll see you all tomorrow because...well.....why not. ? Keep in mind, they are EXPENSIVE though.?
Best chicken we have had in a long time. I got the Jerk Chicken and Waffles and my wife got the fried chicken and waffles. WOW just WOW. This is my first time eating authentic Jamaican food and it made me fall in love. All natural, all fresh. The place is super well designed and has a very nice vibe, we had a DJ playing live music. Just joy everywhere and our server Cassandra went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to provide us with top service. Some of the friendliest people, we will come back for dinner too! OH, and try their fresh fruit juices, they are something else.
Absolutely loveee this place. Food is off the chain. Drinks were great service was excellent.
I don’t have photos because the food was so good. We stopped in on our way downtown and all I wanted was beef Pattie’s, which were amazing. The ribs and the oxtail rolls were great (you should receive 3 or 4 per order, two is not enough to share with others. My friends all had oxtails, which I was not familiar with. I was able to taste a couple and they were amazing, the gravy amazing. It was so good that we came back the next day for carry out. The food was great and the atmosphere was sharp. I hope to come back so we can sit on the roof and try the brunch menu. Good job, I will return.
The food is authentic and delicious. You get all the best Jamaican dishes such as jerk chicken, oxtails, curry goat, etc. It's all really good! The main reason why this is one of my favorite spots in the city is that they aren't afraid to experiment with those traditional dishes and flavors to give you a little bit of a twist. For example, they offer a Jerk Chicken stir fry as well as shrimp and veggie spring rolls that are amazing and add a little bit of an Asian inspired fusion to traditional Jamaican cuisine. I know there may be some other places attempting to incorporate other flavors of Island style foods with other types of cuisine but I guarantee you that Good To Go is packing in the flavors to perfection and they are one of the best places doing it. I would check them out ASAP!
The drinks, food and vibe were definitely on point! My first go at Jamaican food.i will be coming back!
I went here for lunch this place had such amazing vibes and food..I would definitely be back..I had the Stewed chicken with veggies, cabbage, rice& beans and Bikini Martini
