My family thoroughly enjoyed the meals we ordered for take-out dinner at Cross-Rhodes Restaurant recently. We got four complete meals for only $67...Greek-style chicken, Gyro platter, and the Cross-Rhodes burger with Greek fries (amazing herbs and zesty lemon flavor), rice, small salad, pita and French bread as side items. We had already dug in and some items were devoured before I remembered to take pictures ?
I order the same meal every time, so I'm not too knowledgeable about the other dishes they offer, but they do a stellar job with my skirt steak, rice, and salad. This is an Evanston classic. Give it a try!2019
Loved going here with my parents.. 4years since they died and this restaurant is still as Great as it was when I visited with Mom and Dad
Cross-Rhodes is our gold standard for gyros and Greek fries. The best around! In fact, all of their selections are great. The service is very friendly. Very highly recommended!
Excellent gyros, souvlaki, and the Greek fries can’t be missed! Have been going for over 30 years and never gets old.
I ordered lunch today for my client and I and the food was absolutely horrendous. The chicken was completely dried out the rice was so gummy and sticky it was worse than something you get an a frozen meal. To make matters worse they charge $15 per meal plus without my knowledge charged another 220 for some sauce that I expected would come with it not that I would pay extra for. I will definitely not be recommending this place to anyone and I won’t be visiting again. Frankly they get better food at Dengeos
I've been going here for years solely for the Greek fries! Perfect anytime but especially when you get off the CTA Main stop after being stuck at the Howard stop in the dead of winter. They are crispy but soft and everything a potato should be-- salt and vinegar potato chips in fry form!Cash only!
The standard I judge all other gyros by! Also everything else on the menu I have had is quite tasty - highly recommended!

One of my favorite places to eat! Heads up they are a cash only restaurant.. Portions are huge and well priced! I LOVE their Lemon rice soup and their gyro dinner and pitas. To die for chocolate cake from local bakery! Staff is always friendly! They have reduced the number of tables for eat in due to COVID in an already small dining area so if you are eating in, there might be a wait on the weekends and make sure to tip well as the staff have fewer tables. Usually metered street parking right in front.
