Strange place, not your typical deli. Servers were great. Sandwiches are huge even for $17 and up. Limited drink menu for a "Pub" but Bloody Mary was a meal...check it out. This location was busy Saturday early evening. Some outside seating available. Had the Cuban (it's big) and Double Deuce [pastrami overload]....large menu we will be back....
Really enjoyed catching up with a friend who is in graduate school at Northwestern while at Bat 17. ????It was quiet and relaxing on an overcast Friday afternoon and felt like the perfect college bar for the occasion. Decked out in Wildcats purple, it seems like a fun space to visit on a gameday and I’m sure I will go back at some point. ? ?I left very satisfied after their Evanston “award-winning” burger and two Tecate tall boys on happy hours. ???Spent $25 even with tax and tip which seemed reasonable for the Chicago area. There’s no Au Cheval in Evanston which means the “K-2 Bat 17 Burger” is not playing in the big leagues, but it was a very solid burger, nonetheless. ?
We had burgers and sandwiches to go (bring your vax cards many Chicago restaurants are still requiring them) and were not disappointed. Salmon burger, cajun burger and turkey ruben.
We have been there twice now, they have impressed us each time. The menu is creative and at top level. For all foodies... This is a must visit. Save room for desert (not possible) but try.
The food here has always been good, especially the sandwich bread. But it’s disappointing the owner has chosen to discriminate against immunocompromised people even after the mandate was lifted. (Feb 28, 2022 - this photo taken 2 weeks later) I will not be going back. They close way too early now anyway - there are other bars in Evanston.
The burgers are huge and delicious. Great thing is they don’t make you sluggish after eating them. The parmesan tots and sweet potato waffles are good too. We received amazing service from Briana and will definitely return.
Good, attentive service compliments a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend the sliders. All are fantastic. Lots of on-street pay parking (free on Sundays) and a city-owned parking garage one block south. Also easily reached by Metra UP-N and the Evanston L.

Yummy food and friendly staff. Tried Bat 17 for the first time and liked the food. I got reduced size portion and it was sufficient for me. Their burgers are huge which comes with fries and pickles. Come hungry to eat all of the regular size sandwiches.
Solid and spacious venue which is good for watching sports games. Standard drinks on tap, and chicken wings were pretty solid. Also got a pool table if you wanna play!
