My wife and I happened to visit this restaurant by chance, and boy did we make a good choice. We loved every dish that we ordered: the masala chaas was unique with vegetables and boondi and full of flavor. The tandoori chicken was tender and balanced in spice. The goan shrimp curry was delicious with the spicy naans. It was also great to hear about the owner Mr. Bajaj's life story.I look forward to visiting again.
Great food. BK, General Manager, is very customer service oriented. Comfortable and satisfying restaurant.
Ate there yesterday and the food was outstanding, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend giving it a try. My wife and I loved it.
Great food, doting service, and reasonable prices. We'll be regular customers.
After The Last Bite Review -Must Try: Vege SamosaDon't Try: Nothing*1~10 Score: 8.1 (Score means I would tell people to go out of their way to try)My Take:I believe this spot is a must try in Chicago-land, so far it has hit my list of top 10 Indian places to try. The food is well seasoned and the samosas are so flaky and delicious. The food itself did not feel out of place and everything was well seasoned. The spinach paneer was a little over done but otherwise everything I've had from the Briyani, to the samosas, to the butter chicken and garlic Naan was delicious. I don't think you will feel disappointed.
First time having Indian food with my friends and I have to say food was very delicious! Their menu has a big selection and we had a hard time to make a decision. BK Bajaj came to our rescue and help us with the order. Portions were large and generous . We truly enjoy our dinner and we will be definitely back. Thank you BK for your suggestions & hospitality!
Ordered take out today and the owner is so sweet. The portion is amazing and the food is so freaking delicious!! I would definitely come back. Great decor inside. Fun atmosphere!! You guys will be more successful for sure! Keep up the good work!
Service was below average at this restaurant. We dined on valentines day, we were not greeted properly when we entered and stood by the door. Once we were seated, no body came to offer even a glass of water for next 30 minutes. The couple next to us was apparently sitting for 45 mins without any order taken and left the table.I had to ask someone to attend us, once the owner came, he was very confused and ended up serving wrong things in a hurry.Sadly our valentines day experience was ruined by choosing a wrong place to dine in where the service is below average.Food we ordered was ok and tasted to some other american indian restaurants. Certainly not at par as compared to other restaurants in chicago. May be it was the wrong day or just the way it is when the order is packed with customers.Recommendation - if you want people to come by, invest in staff and greet customers nicely and attend them timelySadly we wont be back. We travelled half hour to this place for a poor dining experience.
Too Long Didn't Read: great food and service. Definitely will order again.BK (the General MGR) takes great pride in his restaurant and it translates to the food. I have not had much experience in Indian cuisine and BK was extremely helpful. For my preferences (spicy lamb) he recommended the Lamb Rogan Josh and Jeera Rice which complemented the entree. I also went with the Paneer (cheese) Kulcha bread and a Mango Lassi drink. Everything was flavorful and delicious. In the Lamb Rogan Josh I could taste the fresh herbs and the Lamb was cooked to perfection. The Jeera Rice was a large serving which reminded me of a delicious earthy wild rice. The Mango Lassi was a nice and thick and not overly sweet. Had a to-go order for lunch and will order more for dinner.BK said he'd recommend a new dish everytime I come in if I'd like.
Dined in this past weekend. We have had Indian food in Chicago and various places in the 'burbs, and this place by far, had the best Indian food we've ever had! We were greeted by the general manager, BK. He asked if we had ever eaten here before and we said no. He said he promised we'd be licking our fingers by the time we left! I had first chosen Palak Paneer, one of my favorites. He wanted to me to try Paneer Makhani instead. I gave it a go and was glad I did. The tomato cream sauce had just the right amount of heat and was so good, that I indeed wanted to lick my fingers. My husband had Chicken Makhani, which had the most tender chicken that practically melted in your mouth. His dish wasn't as spicy as mine though. We each were going to order a side of jasmine rice (not included with your meal, which makes it pricier), but BK said he'd bring a large rice for us to share. We were served Kashmiri Pulao, which was a huge dish of rice with golden raisins, walnuts, slivered almonds, peas and fresh herbs. The rice was fluffy and delicious. The vegetable samosas and garlic naan didn't disappoint either. Though we reeked of garlic until the next day!Though the food was a little pricey (and we understand that restaurant prices have gone up lately), we had plenty of leftovers to take home. I got another two meals out of my Paneer Makhani and to be honest, I could've stretched it to three. We live 45 minutes away from Red Tomatoes, but next time we're craving Indian food, we will be back to try other dishes.
