This is the place I bring friends and clients to when they ask me if we can go to a good Mexican restaurant in the burbs!

This is a real success story. It started in a modest one unit space then expanded into a full restaurant without the usual pitfalls of loosing quality to get volume. The food is very good and the help is considerate and attentive. I was asked several times how it was going by someone besides my server. All this is not without cost and to be honest it's on the high side for this type of cuisine but not to the point I felt taken advantage of. The trite expression holds true here "you get what you pay for"Imho spend some extra cash and try this place for yourself.

I had the Enchiladas with Green sauce and they were great

I gave another Sammy's location a try and result is unfortunately the same. One location you get there house speciality margaritas that are watered down. And the Elgin location you get what you think is a steak burrito to find out you get what they call there quality of meat? not my words either. So then what is it? To then find out to get real steak what you were expecting in the first place skirt steak or similar you have to pay 3 dollars more. The burrito was awful, salty, loaded with sour cream andgreasy. We called not even expecting anything but just to say hey these weren't that great never once say or offer anything. The young staff members didn't even ask would you like to speak to a manager. Sammy's is not what it's all hyped to be we definitely have been to better and had better service. Such a bummer

Delicious food; fast, friendly service; ample portions!

GOOD food ,friendly bar tenders and the margaritas are REALLY GOOD ?

Took a little while to get a seat but overall, food was delicious! I got pork tamales w/ fries ($12), a mojito, and my boyfriend got Sammy’s Torta ($13). Staff was friendly and food was delicious. Can’t wait to come back!

Sammy’s has been our favorite Mexican restaurant for years. However I’m losing faith as the last two times I’ve ordered steak burritos the steak has been so over cooked it’s inedible. I know it’s tough in the industry these days, but I was hoping the manager would have something to say to restore my faith for the next time we order. He was understanding but did not ask for our information so I’m afraid the next order I’ll be dealing with same issue. At this point I’m not sure there will be a next time.

Food was delicious and fresh. It’s pricey tho!! $40 per person…

Had heard good things about this place but was hugely disappointed. The salsa was runny and didnt have any flavor and that was the theme of the meal. Traditional chicken burrito was good sized but had little flavor. Guacamole was fresh but again very bland. Overpriced too - $17 for the burrito alone.
