Enjoying an extended anniversary celebration, we booked a table last minute. We were sat immediately, service very friendly and food was amazing with very generous portions. We are definitely coming back.
The food here is fabulous! You have to try the pot pie at least once. But literally everything is amazing. What a treat to have this restaurant in Elgin!
We LOVE this little gem in downtown Elgin! Their menu has a great variety but isn’t overwhelming. Been here for both breakfast and dinner and it did not disappoint. My faves are the French toast and the chicken pot pie…but the star is the side dish of carrots!! Aaron, our server, is super friendly and we’ve had nothing but great service. I need more people to dine with them and keep em open!

Went here tonight for their German themed dinner and it was awesome! Must have their Red Poppy cocktail, it was so good. Staff was amazing and attentive. Food was phenomenal and portions were more than enough (we took home leftovers!). Can't wait to come try them again.
We just tried Red Poppy. Menu is small, but you'll find something good. The place is so cute. We wanted to try a few things. We had the chicken and dumplings, the cucumber dill salad and had to try some mashed potatoes. Very tasty. It was so filling. We ate around 1:30 pm. I ate nothing else the rest of the day as the food filled me up all day and night.
Great portions of fantastic food. Well worth the trip if you live within an hour of the place. Call first to make sure they're open.....days or hours open may change because of current economic conditions affecting businesses in this once great State.

Best French Toast you'll ever have. Red Poppy is a hidden gem in the northwest suburbs. Very good traditional European comfort foods and great service. Friendly staff and a nice environment to meet friends for breakfast or lunch. Also if you like custom and classic cars, Sunday morning is a great time to go. There is a cars and coffee meet in the parking lot across the street every Sunday in the spring through fall.
