Alexander's Cafe was okay but not great for us.Pros: country fried steak was excellent, portions were large, complimentary to go coffee, friendly serviceCons: chai tea latte was very bland (tasted like frothy milk), breakfast burrito was mediocre, there was a lack of attention to detail (one example: I asked for no sour cream with my burrito but it came with sour cream)We won't be returning but if we did return, we would like to try the french toast and the biscuits and gravy (neighboring tables ordered these and they looked good).
If I could give 6 stars I would.⭐ Service, hostess was polite and greeted my group right away. But the waitress was beyond great. Thank you Hailey. Service with a smile, patient and helpful.⭐Food, plentiful, well portioned, tasty, hot.⭐Management came by to ask about the food and service.⭐ Other staff members assisted and was great also. Love to see a Team Environment, working together.
Exceptional service and food. My cousin's daughter started choking on hot chocolate and one of the servers ran over to assist. She was completely fine, just really dramatic. I do appreciate the quickness. Bloody Marys for breakfast too. Everything was phenomenal.
Great service and tea selection. Got the breakfast tacos and they were so good! Would come back here again!
We went on a Sunday at noon the place was busy ?. We only had to wait like 15 minutes to be seated. They had a piano player in the restaurant. It was very relaxing to hear. The service was very good. The waitress didn't leave are glasses dry. The food was excellent! The restaurant was clean and fresh.
Great place for a delicious breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Large and tasty dishes. Definitely will come back again.
Every time I get the chance to recommend a restaurant in the Elgin area, I recommend Alexander’s. I have never ordered something that I didn’t like. It’s always fast and it’s always delicious.I was so thankful for them over the pandemic because they stayed open and kept my job afloat!I go here probably once or twice a week now. I love it!!

When my family said they were going here, i thought great, another diner. But i was pleasantly surprised. The food was great, as well as the ambiance of the place. They took your traditional Greek owned diner and just tweaked a few things to make it stand out with a live piano player, nice decor, and intelligentsia coffee. Other diners could learn from them
