The dining room is open in Edwardsville, but no one is home. You must order via kiosks, no table service, flimsy plastic utinsils, and plastic food containers. Stick with burgers and fries. I unfortunately had chili Mac. Font make the same mistake. They are also using paper straws. I wish they would go with sippy cups like Starbucks. Paper straws may be good for the environment, but they make useless straws. With all the money they ate saving in labor, they could at least get decent plastic silverware. And I thought the could get the restaurant clean when the dining room was closed for two years, but, sadly, still not very clean.
Went through drive through and got wrong food after 30 minutes and fries were uncooked. Nothing on order was correct. I went in to get a refund. Several other people at the time were also in like to get a refund. Waited 10 minutes and gave up. Right as I was about to leave I asked for a refund and they said it would take awhile. I decided my time wasn't worth $15 and was done wasting my time. An old guy threatened to call the police since he never got his food and couldn't even get a refund. I had enough. I decided to go to Freddy's across the street.
wow. place was dirty.we walked in there were a couple tables with customers at them. All other tables were dirty. I had to ask for a rag to wipe a table. floor was dirty. had to order from a kiosk. they didn't have what my son ordered. ( mini corn dogs). I was charged extra for cheese fries. I had to go vack and ask for 2 drinks that were forgotten and the cheese. the food was not great. we used to go there alot. used to be always busy but good and clean. I get places are struggling for help. I can only assume that was a reason for ordering and paying at the kiosk. but
GREAT SERVICE! We dined in and the store was very nice and clean! Will definitely be stopping here to eat in the future!
Not what it was , not sure why it so bad lately but try somewhere else . Not just bad but consistently bad. Long wait time for seriously greasy burgers and cold fries. Nuff said.
At 8am the even serve hamburgers. Sold. It's been years since I've had this place. Great food for a cheap price. Best service too. Would come back if I'm in the area.
They have a new kiosk system, then they call your number and you come pick it up from a counter. They ignore you for the most part and don't interact with the customers at all. They don't seem to care like they did before. I found a piece of plastic in my basket under my fries. I almost ate it if I hadn't looked down I would have, they acted like they never saw a piece of plastic before, and walked away and said nothing more. Had to ask for a replacement fry wasn't offered. Personally I don't care for the new way they have steak and shake setup in Edwardsville. Seems they went on the cheaper side of things now. Masks aren't required by customers, but employees still wear them. The Kiosk is very confusing if you haven't used it before, ask for help before you get a massive order. Eat well!
Had a bad experience where I ordered thru app and then arrived and called the number as instructed. The phone rang and rang with no answer, I then went to walk in and grab my food since the restaurant was full of guests to be greeted with a locked door and no body answering. Went thru drive thru which took 30 minutes after my food showed completed to be told "no refund and the manager could care less about my time". I then tried to get ahold of customer care with steak and shake to be presented with a "the office is closed" message. Where has customer service gone. People, please be careful with the Edwardsville IL location if you do choose to go since you will get no refunds for UNFRESH food as well as have to be expected to wait depending on if they have a private party inside or not.Update: I talked with another manager on the phone this afternoon and they are going to try to make it right by remaking food and district manager (Mary) is supposed to call me back. Still have not received a call, but will keep you updated. At least this manager is trying to assist.
It's a steak n shake. But if you're not from the area....the shakes aren't half bad, and the skinny french fries when hot are pretty good.
The best deal in quick service. Makes you wonder why people or their government are so anti-Iranian (founder did us a service). Has gotten slower lately like 10-15 minutes used to take 5.
