We are regulars to Lao Sze Chuan. I personally think the food is very good!

One of the best Chinese places around. We go out of our own town to get food from here at least once a month. The menu has a lot of great options a standard Chinese restaurant doesn't offer. Definitely recommend.

I ordered delivery last night. It was FANTASTIC! I ordered the green bean/ black bean appetizer, pan fried combo noodles and brisket noodle soup. Incredible flavors and not your “typical” Chinese food. So much better! I’ll be ordering again when I’m in Oakbrook again.

Not all locations are equal. Honestly, having been to the Chinatown location many times before, I felt let down and that the food here could've been better. The boiled fish tasted flat and like it was missing the signature numbing spice you tend to find in most szechuan dishes. For the almost $20 price point, it also felt like the amount of fish didn't really add up to the cost. The szechuan style string beans didn't do it for me either, and virtually had no heat at all to it and was borderline on the verge of going bad as it didn't have that fresh bite to it. Lastly the seafood noodle soup... not even sure this is a Chinese dish.Probably the only positive that came out of this takeout order was that we scored a reusable bag. Pretty sad I had to write this review, but will likely make the trek out to Chinatown next time I have the itch for some szechuan dishes.'Til next time.

Tried this place and by no means was I disappointed, the Mala cabbage WOW and the three Chile spicy can't be topped. If you're looking for great Oriental food and assume taste this place is a much. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED

This restaurant has been my favorite restaurant for four years ? Delicious dishes, excellent service here has never changed! I have been to every restaurant in Lao Sichuan compared to other places, this restaurant is highly recommended!

I placed an order today for 3 items one of which was a large wonton soup with scallions in it. unfortunately it didn't have any in it .when I called them about it he said we didn't charge you for scallions and hung up in my face.do soup was not satisfying and I was shocked by the rudeness will not recommend customer service was terrible and soup went in the garbage

Tony Hu has really fallen off. Lao Sze Chaun used to be a very traditional Szechuan style restaurant, with strong fo Shan and Cantonese dishes. Now, including their staple Chinatown location and Michigan Ave location, it’s become your typical Americanized Chinese restaurant that flirts with PF Chang-esque identity. At this point, the menu isn’t for Chinese customers, and that’s okay. We will just eat elsewhere

Amazing! All of the food is delicious, especially the Sesame Chicken. You are given complimentary tea which is some of the best I have ever had. Service was great and there is so much food on each platter. I definitely recommend eating here!

If you dine in, the service is fast and good. If you order online for pick up, it is very slow. The last 2 times I've ordered online, I waited over an hour for the food. I was promised a time, came in 45 minutes later at the promised time, then waited another 20 to 45 minutes in the restaurant. No one greeted me at the front desk and a bunch of people were congregated around it. They eventually bring out the food, and are not friendly about it. I understand there is a shortage in workers due to covid, but they need to work on a more efficient system. Other places I've ordered at in town have the food done and ready within 30 to 45 minutes, even at the busiest times.
