I give up on this location. I’d rather take more time and travel to a different one.I’ve been to this shop several times recently and each time I’m disappointed. I worked at a different Potbelly’s location for years so I know what I should be getting, and this ain’t it. I tried to give them a chance n thought it was just the people working on a particular day but it’s not…Every sandwich I get is poorly dressed (a mess, all the hot peppers or condiment(s) in one spot, too much or too little toppings) and/or messed up. Corporate has this sandwich business down to a science, i.e., 5 parts to the perfect Potbelly sandwich, but it doesn’t seem like these guys got that training manual. And I’d be willing to let that slide, and the fact that the customer service leaves quite a bit to be desired, but today they sold me, what I believe, was an old ‘baked today’ cookie. I’ve eaten more than my fair share of Potbelly cookies- they’re baked daily so, when I worked there, we’d take home whatever was left because otherwise they’d go in the trash. But today I had my first dry, DRY “baked daily” chocolate brownie cookie. The only way that happens is if the cookie is smooshed way too much, which it wasn’t, or it’s old. To me, that says their GM is being cheap and doesn’t want to lose money on unsold product, even though that’s what they should do because it doesn’t meet their quality standard. And based on the overall experience I’ve had at this shop, it seems like profit is their number one priority, when it should be #4.For a company I loved working for, who, on a corporate level, has their I’s dotted and T’s crossed, who has their priorities straight (people, customers, sales, profits), whose product I STILL love, after 3 years of eating it constantly, this location is a bit frustrating but mostly it just makes me sad.
Love potbelly's generally, but this particular location is pretty rude (multiple occasions) and generally opens/closes outside of its official hours.
I give the Potbelly Sandwich Shop in downtown Des Plaines 5 stars. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I appreciate that I was able to get a hot warm sandwich to go, in a short amount of time. I ordered the "Wreck" which certainly is just like it says on the menu, a meat lover's Paradise. I appreciate they have lots and lots of crunchy chips to choose from including the Zapp's New Orleans style kettle potato chips. There is plenty of parking around this Potbelly's, and it is easy to get in and out of the shop.
Worst place regretting getting my sibs from this kind of garbage place! Manager in the bandana is worst! Not friendly at all! I called them asking why they were acting strange he said that she was in stress so treat customers like whatever she needs to get fired ! I will never go this location again or where this manager is working! This place should shut down for their unfriendly behaviours and disgusting subs!
Even though the prices have risen substantially, it's still a great value. I love my vegetable soup with my veggie sandwich. The fixing really make
Waited 23 min. For a shake and one turkey Sammie. Unbelievable. I ordered ahead and was supposed to be ready at 12:05 got my order at 12:22 no way I'm coming back to this location. Good luck ya all
Baked ham,Swiss ,avocado and everything else. GREAT. OH and a cup of veggies soup.
If u seek good customer service or friendly sandwich artists, don't go after evening. That staff just serves one particular group of ppl
The sandwich was disgusting, sloppy and burnt which made the whole sandwich taste burnt and the soup was luke warm
I ordered online and I couldn’t add ranch. There website kept saying 403 forbidden so I went to grub hub and couldn’t add it. I called and Edgar was nice enough to add it no problem even though they don’t do it anymore. I’m pregnant so the ranch is needed rn ?
