There are very few restaurants that I would go to just for the service but this is definitely one of them. The food is phenomenal but somehow the staff manages to be even better. It was our first time here and they made recommendations and were incredibly nice to our toddler who was having a meltdown. We are definitely going to be regulars here now and it's so nice to see a local restaurant like this thrive!
This place makes life amazing. I'm a seafood lover. But in Don's Dock, seafood has different taste. It's a family business which gives you the indication of different spirit in the place. It's cozy but warm. Food is made with love. I ordered fried collection of shrimps, calamaris and fish. When I received the food it was fine but I didn't know that I had the choice of choosing till what extent it should be cooked. The food was overcooked which isn't that much good with seafood. Before even starting; the owner Ms. Dana, saw my platter while passing through and she told me it's overcooked and we're sorry for this and I'll get you a replacement. She replaced the whole order without removing the old one and didn't charge me anything. That's what you get in family owned restaurants. I loved the place and I'll definitely visit them again coz nothing is better than eating good food with lovely people like this family. By the way, the replaced order was awesome. You should try their sauces. Cocktail and tartar were brilliant. And last but not least, they do a lovely Jambalaya with shrimps and guess what, a 100% full beef sausages. For me that's enough to rate it 100 stars not only 5. God bless that lovely family and with them best of luck.
Glad we finally tried this place! Really good food and friendly staff! Only a few tables, but they turn over quickly and staff were doing a great job keeping everything clean between patrons. While we were enjoying our meal, many people stopped by to pick up some seafood for home, and staff were generously providing cooking and preparation tips.
I have eaten here for more than 30 years and I can say I've never had a bad meal here. The crab bisque is my favorite soup that they have. I usually try to have something new every time I go there. The lobster roll is it definite recommendation, the fried shrimp excellent. They must be doing something right with a family-owned restaurant for as far back as I can remember.
I've been driving past Don's Dock for years. I've heard people rave about this place. It took me longer than I care to admit to visit as they're located in a pretty poor spot (heavy traffic). How I wish I would've visited sooner. We tried fried cod, fried squid, and fried jumbo shrimp. The ladies at the counter could tell it was our first time and went out of their way to explain the menu and offer suggestions. They gave us samples of their sauce and threw in some extra shrimp. They really took care of us and I'm so appreciative for that as it's increasingly uncommon.Quality and execution - they knock it out of the park. Price - we're not on a coast so it's a little pricey but it's really not too bad. If high cholesterol didn't run in the family I'd be here every week. I can't speak highly enough of the fried shrimp. As good as the Gulf Shrimp in New Orleans.
My family and I have tried to really like this restaurant but it was a miss for us. The batter on the fish and shrimp was most of the meal, the jambalaya completely unseasoned, and everything over all was just over fried and cold. I really wanted to like this place but for what you get you're better off saving the cash and making seafood at home.
Great family run seafood place. Only a few tables and they fill up quickly. Their fried seafood is amazing. Perfect amount of breading to seafood. The wait can get a little long if you walk in. Would recommend calling in your order. They usually have it ready within 15 minutes.
Food and service are excellent. Not sure if the staff noticed I walked with a cane, but they delivered our order to our table, when I've seen everyone else go to the counter to pick up their order when their number was called. They have the absolute BEST claim chowder soup anywhere!
Absolutely wonderful experience food was beyond excellent and great size portion for the price! Donna is gem too! I cannot wait to come back and bring my in laws!
My sister and I went to Don's dock after not going for many years. We both ordered various items and both spent over $30 each. We both got the fried combo meal, substituted the cat fish for clams. When my sister and I went to eat it at my place, the portions were horrible! Spent $11.50 dollars on small pieces of cod, over done clams and shrimp that weren't shrimp? Go figure that one! Money is not easy to come by! Call today, and spoke to the manager. His name was: Mike. He appreciated me telling him about what happened. Didn't really apologize? He said maybe it was the crew that did it wrong. All he could give me and my sister is $3.00 off? What kind of credit is this! He said he wouldn't give me the meal for free. Not a reputable place l will never go back again. Shame on them.
