Amazing fried chicken. This is my plate half way thru (I ate it all haha). I have been living in Dekalb for about 5 years and this is my first time having Lothson’s chicken. The chicken had crispy skin and moist meat. Great seasoning. I wasn’t sure what the cream/butter was that they give you in a cup. It’s sweet and salty and surprisingly really good. It pairs well with the roll. Coleslaw is nice and tangy. For being the first week of March, the food arrived home and it was still warm! I will only be ordering fried chicken from this place!
I love the food here. The chicken and the perch are great. You will not find better-tasting chicken or perch anywhere in Dakalb/Sycamore. Give the restaurant a try. It will be worth it. Call ahead with your order and it will be made fresh!
I have been wanting to try the chicken here for a really long time. I have lived all over the US, and this was the best chicken and best fish I have ever eaten! Potato salad is fabulous ???

We tried Lothsons last night for the first time on a neighbors recommendation and theyve ruined any other chicken places for us! lol We learned you call in right between 4-5pm with your order, (I walked in about 6:45pm last night because I didnt know how it worked - sorry Janet!) and this lady cooks everything fresh to order so it takes approximately 45 minutes for the freshest juciest homecooked fried chicken you've ever put in your mouth! My husband normally will not eat cole slaw - he devoured and loved hers! Old fashioned hand cut fries & the honey butter she provides with her pull apart biscuits is the final perfect touch. And affordable - so affordable, but please tip her because she deserves every.penny. for her labor and service. We sincerely hope she stays around for awhile and realizes her hard work is so appreciated. We have lived in the area 9 years and feel an injustice to have never known or tried this treasure before now. The experience is like going to a family fry and having generations of an old family recipe provided to you - something you cannot find much anywhere anymore. We wont go anywhere else and we look forward to trying her perch next. She is only open 4-7:30 which is a slight injustice BUT also not - because this ensures the taste - oil is the freshest oil and you can taste it which makes ALL the difference compared to others where it can taste burnt or 10+ hours old. Well done Lothsons - someone told me best friend chicken in the county - NO ITS THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN IN IL.

Looking for OLD SCHOOL CHICKEN, This is the place, family owned and well worth the stop. The chicken is delicious and the owners hospitality is humble.
