I got the full slab of ribs, the first half was fall of the bone, the second slab was like eating the sole off your shoe. The potato salad was, well, out of left field so to speak. It was more like home fries with cheese, bacon bits and olive oil. Odd flavor, not very good. Service was good, but the food made the overall dining experience a non starter. Won't be going back....
Fattys Pub and Grill is a nice place to stop in for a burger and a beer. The atmosphere is inviting and the food is good. The service I had on the day of my visit was average at best. Our server tried to handle our big group and unfortunately fell a little short. I will not fault her, she was the only server in our area, that was an oversight on the managers part. There should have been at least two if not 3 servers for our group of 28. I will definitely stop in again.
A must go to of DeKalb. More than just an eatery by the college. Fatty's has excellent food and service. The beer selection is the best in town. I recommend getting the potato salad and a Reuben for the best experience.
Great food and the place to watch your favorite sporting event (including the NIU Huskies!). Wide variety of food and drink options. They also have live music, and event space. Their outdoor seating is also a great place to enjoy a drink after work.
This is my come to place when I visit the DeKalb area. The place is always inviting, and the food is well prepared. Always get the kicked up potato salad as a side dish. My only wish this time was for the service to be more attentive to the customers. They seemed more focus on each other than the guests.
We needed to order food for 25 for our Christmas Party. We also needed everyone's food to be in it's own container. Of course we chose Fatty's as you can't go wrong with their food. I worked with Anna who was absolutely wonderful. She was pleasant, attentive, and insured everything was correct. The order was ready for pickup when I arrived. We will absolutely do this again. Thank you Anna and the kitchen staff at Fatty's. You made our meal a success!
Went to Fatty's for lunch, beers and to watch football. Hostess seated us quickly considering the crowd. Waitress was outstanding! Had us fresh drinks every time. Food was awesome, I highly recommend the Cajun Fried Potato Salad. Beer selection was top notch. Draft beer was cold and not flat at all. Our waitress ended our stay by organizing the bill splitting it 5 ways on different cards. Definitely returning!
Our experience was average. The waitress was not in the dining area much. Our food came...my Daughters chicken sand was beyond overcooked. My burger was overcooked as well. I was done eating by the time anyone came to see how our food was. It was a non busy Tuesday afternoon, so why she was not checking on her tables is beyond me. She did put in for a Patti melt in place of overcooked/dry chicken. I got the deep fried potato salad...ordered slaw? Thinking the place needs a new waitress...good luck on that, as no one wants to work these days. The other waitress was out on the dining floor and tending to customers...ours was AWOL for most of our dining experience.
Came here to eat and have a few drinks because I’m new in town.Waited for 7 minutes at a table and NOT ONE WAITRESS came up and took an order or said “hello.” Waitresses walked past the table to clean other tables, stood by the kitchen door and serve other tables but not one came to the table. Can’t stay they’re short staffed because there was only about 6 more tables and around 4 servers.
Fatty's get a five nice pub to visit food was great and they have over 10 beers on tap.
