We went to see Jonny Lyons and the Pride. There was a cover, which is no problem, but the entrance line was long mostly because of lack of organization. We waited while some of the best songs were playing. Once inside we had a great time. Can't comment on the food or even the drinks. We came to dance and dance we did. Good size area to do so. We were not bugged to eat or drink.
It's been a very long time since I was last here, and it's safe to say that The Cottage has aged like fine wine. They just keep getting better. I had hands down the best Reuben I've ever had in the Chicago area, and the service was beyond awesome. Super friendly and extremely accommodating. We needed to stop for food after a softball game, forgot we had the dog, and they were nice enough to let us sit outside with her and dine here. This is the best experience I've had at a restaurant in years. Thank you so much, Cottage.
Extremely delicious food, fantastic drinks, and a great atmosphere.From the burgers, to the pizza, to the wings and everything in between, the food is amazing. Their specials are always good and makes it a great resturant to visit on any day of the week.The drinks are plentiful and the patio drinks are superb. Their drink specials are also similar to their food specials, just overall great deals.The atmosphere is great, for both families, bar-regulars, and visitors. I will say that as the night goes later, the drunks come out. The many of times I've been there, there have been close to a few fights, as well as an instance of a friend almost getting roofied at the bar a couple years back. While this is not a criticism of the bar, it's good to be aware of safety if you're planning to stop by late. You can't stop people's dumb actions especially at any bar, but stay aware.
You should have signs along the fence or at your two front doors that says the only opening is in the back. I got the fried fish and home made chips. Fish was good sized pieces. The chips had zero seasoning, I mean absolutely nothing. And the coslaw was awful.
Sydney was the best! The food was delicious. The drinks were great and it was super quick too! I will be going back for more!
We dine in and take out from here often. Always great food. I don’t typically give reviews but we had an odd experience this evening. Came home with our food. An item was missing, called back and our server was very apologetic and owned her mistake. It’s rare to see this these days. Then Allison went above and beyond and she offered to deliver the missing item herself mind you she’s a server as well. I was very grateful for this. We Will be asking for her as our server each time we come back. Thanks again.
the fish fry was amazing! Our waitress Sydney couldn't have been more amazing.
The service was amazing but the food was even better. Everything we order was delicious. And we ordered a variety of things. Everything from CURDS to SHEPHERD PIE. It wasn't just bar food, it was comfort food. I would definitely go back and order anything! Maybe my favorite part was free nuts and popcorn to start on the table... YUM
They could use 2 Bartenders on Sunday. Really busy for just one.
Went there last Friday for the fish fry. Terrible. The fish pieces were mostly batter, soaked in oil. The fist itself was barely there. The oil itself was also puddled up in the bottom of the basket, soaking the French fries. And this was the special of the night!I’ve had their burgers, pizza and wings before, all great, that’s why I was surprised to see the fish fry made so poorly.
