I’m from out of town so it probably won’t mean much but I was sorely disappointed In this restaurant. I came in for dinner on Mother’s Day on business and tried to order a Caesar salad with chicken. I’m in a strict diet regimen. You would think I was asking for the impossible. Instead of the posted Google Map menu, it was switched out for a higher priced ‘select’ Mother’s Day menu offering ONLY what they think mothers should eat and NOT what YOU want. They refused to prepare the simple Caesar Salad on the published menu. Seriously? How hard can that be? The excuse was that “everything” was prepared in advance and that salads (even though mom wants it) cannot be ordered. How absolutely absurd and ridiculous. I paid my beer tab and left to go next door to the Village Squire where they were happy to make WHATEVER salad I wanted. Very poor customer accommodations at Jamesons. I travel through this part of Illinois each week as a fireman consultant and will probably never patronise this establishment upon my return. Looks nice but not worth the time and bait-and-switch marketing. You need to reconsider your menu flexibility.
Well, I can tell ya... I don't write many 5 star reviews unless I'm thoroughly impressed. This place is very impressive. The atmosphere is wonderful. I ordered a 16oz bone-in New York steak, blood mooing rare - just to die for, it was awesome. Broccoli on the side, very green and tender, wonderful flavor. Steak fries. The other best parts... French Onion soup...ahhh the bomb. Salad with ranch and cracked black pepper, Hot delicious bread. Other favorites: Must try, must have... A Tiramisu Martini - could not believe how great it was... Try it! Desert was Tiramisu cake... Jaw dropper. Where the credit is extremely due... Is our server: MIKE LUKOWSKI - very attentive, friendly and funny. Gets my vote for employee of the month. Hope to have him as my server again. Now, the price for all this... A whole whooping $80.00. Well worth every penny. Bring your date and a Ben Franklin and enjoy a GREAT resturant in Crystal Lake, IL. AAA+++!!!
We had dinner at the Crystal lake location today even though they were extremely busy everything was fabulous!!! From the moment we walked in we were greeted at the door by the lovely hostesses we had a reservation and was seated right away. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Our server was also great and efficient, happy and polite. The Manager stopped by our table to make sure we were satisfied with everything .We can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in
First time customers after hearing many rave reviews by Orion Samuelson over the years. We've never been close to a facility. The food was excellent. Our waiter was pleasant and the pricing was decent.
Very disappointed the quality of the food has really gone down. Been going here for years may be our last time here last two times sucked very bad ribs ordered full slabs got 3/4 of a order. They were so over cooked I couldn't eat them. 25$ down the drain. Can't believe the pricing on everything. Should of stayed home and ordered a pizza. this was my go to places for birthday dinner but no more. Hope you guys get your thing's together there.
It was a long and challenging day, using TripAdvisor I selected this wonderfully glorious establishment. The setting is old school establishment. Lots of wood and a fireplace. I requested a quiet booth for one. The host stopped what they were doing to clear a booth for me. WOW!! I was lucky enough to get Liam as my server. A polite youthful individual who performs his job with efficient and gracious excellence. I selected the porterhouse, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and chicken noodle soup. What an incredible value for a fantastic meal. Given the wonderful service by the team, the delicious meal and incredible value, it is no wonder that this establishment is a TripAdvisor favorite.
I would give negative stars if possible. When being seated, we asked to be placed in a safe area because the host, who supposedly was the owner, was not wearing a mask. As we were sat, I turned to see and hear the owner say about my mother “oh she wants to be safe…..unbelievable” while rolling his eyes and shaking his head. I then called him out about how rude an unprofessional he was for making a comment about my mother about us wanting to be safe during a pandemic. The “owner”, instead of apologizing for his horribly unprofessional behavior, proceeded to tell me that masks don’t work when i said how inappropriate it was for him to talk badly about a customer loud enough for them to hear. We wound up leaving the restaurant after he went into a tirade about how masks don’t work and we are in the same position 2 years later.Instead of apologizing again for saying something so rude and arguing about why he shouldn’t have to wear a mask, we were told we can leave when I stated that I was a business owner in the county and follow mask and social distancing protocols. While leaving, the owner then stated we can come back in, which I refused, and he then stated he never said anything about my mother when being seated. A business should not be allowed to be open if they won’t follow health and safety protocols serving food with no masks on, let alone be rude to guests that are high risk and are trying to be safe. I’ll never give any business to any location and will do everything in my power to let people know the unsafe and rude treatment we were given. My father has cancer and has to be extremely cautious, yet we weren’t given that option and were berated about it.
40 minutes late for reservation. Service was bad. Waiter never filled water, getting drinks took a long time, Waiter forgot sauces three times. Waiter disappeared for long stretches of time and as he told us he only had" three table s". Food was actually good, but they are not worth the wait. We may try them one more time during the week to see if it's the same, but I do not recommend this place.
A calm, relaxing atmosphere combined with a helpful, but not hovering server made for a lovely lunch. We had the pan-seared walleye and the London broil. Both were cooked to perfection and very tasty. We saved room for dessert-a cinnamon apple cobbler topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Sooo good! And because my mom was celebrating her birthday, she got to take home a dessert for later. All-in-all, a perfect afternoon.
I can’t say enough about the impeccable service we received during our special event November 21, 2021. The amazing staff worked tirelessly to meet our every need.Right from the beginning Anastasia made sure we had everything we needed for the setup, and she came back several times to see if there was anything else we needed. Ally and Molly were absolutely exceptional! They exhibited just the right balance of friendliness, and efficiency. The girls worked so well as a team which made everything run very smoothly. They were prompt and pleasant whenever anyone had a request.Peter personally accommodated us in many ways, including the many times he worked on the seating arrangement, provided table cloths and a beautiful personalized menu.I recommend Jamison’s to anyone who is looking for a party venue. The room is so cozy and inviting, and I especially appreciated the soft lighting. My family and I will be returning. The entire staff helped to make our event memorable.
