The togarashi fries was the best! My husband said that it was the best fries he had ever tasted! Wow! We also loved the steamed mussels, it was so delicious that we’ve ordered another one. I was excited to try their calamari but it wasn’t available that time. Bummer. Although not a lot of food to choose from the menu, all in all it was a great experience! Definitely we’ll be back!
Food is great, fabulous combos A vegetarian and vegan offerings, All things considered. Servers are really nice people just really wish they would check in more often. Would've loved to order a few more drinks but missed out as a result of this. I'm happy to have a restaurant like Dukes in the area. I actually wish we had another similar to it.
The guest bartender Eli W stopped serving by 8:32pm after telling me when I'd arrived 20 minutes earlier that the bar closed at 9pm. No last call, just handed a receipt. Perhaps she believed I was drunk because I walk differently due to a disability, but I was sober and no concern was voiced. Enjoyed my single cocktail, the Bright Bite.
Great beer selection as always expected. Pretzel appetizer was okay, with cheese sauce and special mustard. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes surprised us, but veggie selection was limited to beets or spinach, neither of which was a good option. Plenty of food for all though and no room for dessert. Service was exceptional. Recommended.
We absolutely love going to Dukes!! The beer selection is way above any other restaurant in the area!! I tried the marinated mushroom sandwich and it was AMAZING!! It should definitely become part of the permanent menu!! U can't go wrong with any of the appetizers or sides either, they r always delicious!! Kids menu is great as well, my kids love the meatloaf and burger sliders!!
Service always good here. The food is so delicious. It is geared towards more healthy eating/vegetarian/vegan. Don't let that deter you. There are amazing choices for all types of eaters. I would recommend them to anyone!
LOOK, Waiting 45 minutes... whatfor a table on Saturday afternoon!With Nowhere to sit, cause the bar area was full & I don't drink, nor feel comfortable waiting closer to the bar area...( Meanwhile 4 - tables were open ) We're told a lie, those 4 - tables are reserved , they never ever got booked.I believe we were told go sit at the bar for 45 minutes or an hour so that ? more $$ could be spent before we would dine.* Also, they stated they were short on waiter staff...***Anyway, waiter staff were fine .Food was, small portions &over - priced !
I've been coming here for years, and there have been some ups and downs. It is definitely the place in Crystal Lake that really wants to give you a more trendy city-like experience, that much of these restaurants in the suburbs tend to lack. I remember talking it up as the trendy spot in town with great beer, creative food options, good music... only to be slightly embarrassed by TGIF-like music and super bright lighting. The atmosphere was really that of a Chili's or any random chain. Maybe they were trying something new and it did NOT work out.. because my more recent visits have been fine, even though the quality of service is inconsistent. I do like whatever cash-back-on-future-visits type program they started, I hope that continues. If you're looking for a really good beer selection and creative food options, definitely try it out!
What an amazing experience!!! Delicious food and a great ambience! Love the menu choices and the plant based punch card!! They did a fantastic job having so many vegan/vegetarian options and the service was excellent! Found our new date day restaurant!
Very good food. Food was warm. Cooked correctly. The last few times we ordered takeout it was a 90 minute wait to get food. Not a negative. Just an awareness for people that read the review.
