We have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. What you get for your money and there will always be left overs you can not eat. The staff especially under the circumstances over the past two years has held it together. Good job Camille!!!! If you don’t want a real meal where soup or salad is offered and bread and oil and a meal you cannot finish then don’t go here. You will never leave hungry and I have brought customers from all over the world here and the complaints are always fantastic.
We called couple of weeks ago to order takeaway because not all of us were comfortable dining in yet, especially when the place is small and crowded. The person answering the phone was rude and wouldn't give us a minute of her time explaining a few basic thing about the menu, and told us she didn't have time after telling us that its "fine dining". I wouldn't call this place fine dining by any standard, it just a family restaurant which happened to have some decent dishes. Needless to say we didn't end up ordering and probably never will.
It was a Sunday night around 530 Might have been a bad night. We were greeted when we walked in with “do you have a reservation?” We said no, there will be two of us. The guy up front, turned around, shook his head and he seemed to be frantically trying to choose which of 5 open tables to seat us at. I asked if there was a wait and if so how long and he ignored me. He took us to our table slapped the menus down and walked away. Dillion was our server and he was fantastic. The food on the other hand left something to be desired. They were out of the wine we wanted, but Dillion had suggested a great sub, we went with that. We had the antipasto for an app. Very underwhelming. Cheap ingredients, deli meat, etc…. For $17 you gotta throw some better quality products on the plate. My fiancé had the chicken marsala and I had the veal saltimbocca. The Marsala was way to sweet, almost like maple syrup and the mashed potatoes were definitely dehydrated potatoes. The veal was grossly over done. It was literally like shoe leather and the sauce was a greasy oily mess. We had tiramisu and a cannoli flight for dessert, both were excellent. All in all, like I said, it may have been a bad night, but there are too many other good/great Italian restaurants in the area, to waste time going back to this place.
Horrible experience. This happened just now. We were around the corner, we were 3 minutes late for our reservation by the time we walked in. And the hostess rudely stated she called twice and gave the table away!!!! She only called ONCE, my Mom’s boyfriend didn’t know it was her and he was driving and literally around the corner. He had to park but dropped me and my Mom off at the front. So they gave our reservation away on MOTHER’S DAY to someone who didn’t have a reservation. So a reservation means nothing there clearly despite the fact the reservation was made a week in advance and we’re told our reservation would be held for a HALF Hour. My Mom’s boyfriend’s family is from southern Italy, Calabrese, so they screwed over a pisano. Absolutely will never come there again.
Great experience! Sat at the bar and meet the family - Frank & Dominic set the tone. Food was great too. Recommend highly - best meal I've had so far in the Crystal Lake Woodstock area.
I have to say the food and waiter were amazing and the owner/hostess not so much. We were a group of seven celebrating a 91st birthday. Some of our party were 15 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances. The owner came to our table and asked " Who made this reservation? They are late. You only have two hours at the table!". We were in awe....couldn't believe she said this in a nasty tone. We were well aware of the 2 hour limit. We told her we would be gone within her two hour time frame... which we were. Upon leaving I told the owner that we made it under two hours and she basically told me not to return. After we left she even called the person who made the reservation and told him we shouldn't return. What kind of a business does this?? We spent a lot of money in her establishment tonight. We were polite. Someone needs to take a refresher course in Customer Service 101.
This place is a little pricey but well worth it in my opinion! I really liked the build your own pasta dishes! Delicious!
Amazing atmosphere with delicious dishes. I really underestimated the crowd, but the owner was kind enough to find to seats tucked away at the bar for me and my date. Great people and can't beat the classic dishes!
I went with my S/O and the mussels are a must have! I ordered the veal picatta and they got carbonara with chicken, and both were amazing, there weren't any leftovers, frok me,to take home, it isn't our first visit there, and it definitely won't be the last, if you get the chance I'd highly recommend Dylan as your server, he was very nice, explained the specials to us, and was a wonderful server to have
Great service. broad and solid menu. chicken with lemon and capers perfect. we will go again
