nice people, good food, and really fast delivery!
We've been going to Chen's for years and have always been very happy with our meals. Tonight we placed an order for delivery. We were told 45 minutes to an hour for delivery. We were very pleased when the food arrived in less than 30 minutes. Our order was wrong though. Called to get it corrected and was given a HUGE hassle. They even blamed us for ordering wrong. With how we were treated (by the manager no less) I'm afraid we will have to find a new place for Chinese food.Update: It took an hour to get our replacement order. We were explicit in explaining that we wanted no mushrooms in the dish. It had finely chopped mushrooms in it. We will not be ordering from Chen's again. Sorry we spent $50 for all this aggravation.
This is the second time I have had an issue with the owner and his staff! I spent $95 for a takeout meal for my family. I requested 5 red chilli sauces and the staff wanted to charge me $1.00. My family has ordered takeout food from here for several years and this has never come up until recently. After the first time this happened, I spoke to the owner and he assured me that this would not happen again on such a large order. The food not that good for that type of aggravation and attitude. I will find a new Chinese Restaurant. What a poor business decision.
The best food I’ve ever had awesome
This is my favorite spot in Crystal Lake! A couple servers quickly learned me and my wife’s names and orders. A very kind staff and great food!
TIP YOUR DELIVERY DRIVER IN CASH. if you tip over the phone they might not get it.The other day when I ordered and tipped over the phone I later looked at my receipt and realized the tip hadn’t been added on, so I called to ask about it and the manager was no help. Basically just said “we’ll make sure they get it” but how are we supposed to know they’re getting it? Idk the whole thing was very weird and sorry but I don’t trust that they’re giving it to them.Other than this I’ve never had a bad experience and have been enjoying their crispy honey chicken and fried rice for many years.
Delicious food and Great staff
When we came here the place was pretty empty inside. I was wondering why but now I know why. First, there were communication problems with our server, we cannot really understand him and it was so difficult to order when we cannot understand what he was trying to say when we asked him some questions about the menu so we decided not to ask anymore. We were also surprised as to how fast our food came. Maybe because there were no other customers or maybe it was old food. The crispy szechuan beef was supposed to be spicy but it wasn’t and it tasted old. Everything we ordered was a disappointment. The food we ordered were really NOT delicious. We barely ate anything and had to take it home but ended up in the trash. Waste of money. Definitely we will not come back. Ever!I would recommend Panda Express instead of this one.
